Another villains party?

From what I've read and saw online, last nights villains party seemed to be a success. Minus the whole traffic congestion. They must have been pleased/surprised at the enormous crowd that showed up. I saw a YouTube video of the fireworks show and it is probably my favorite disney fireworks show to date, it was impressive. My question is tho, there's another Friday the thirteenth in December, do you think there will be another "unleash the villains?" You would think they got the message last night that villains are a huge draw and they should do something about it :)

The villains are definitely underplayed, in my opinion. A villain party was a genius idea. Given that there will be more Friday the 13ths to come, I think having it on each of those nights would be a great draw for people planning trips. It could also be just one of those things that comes and goes, like the Pirates and Princess Party which was pretty fun.

But I think having something just for villains in the parks is a cool idea.

I've had a sneaking suspicion from the beginning that these limited time events were Disney's way of testing out new stuff. Easy way to figure out what will and will not work as a long term or yearly addition. Sounds like this one was the most popular limited time event so far (by a long shot).

Aside from the traffic and crowd conditions, everything I've heard has been very positive. Everyone said the fireworks were MUCH better than MNSSHP. I was told I shouldn't have bailed on the traffic because the fireworks were that good. But when nature calls, she must be answered!!

If I were Disney, I'd be working right now on Friday the 13th special events.

Eta: having viewed the film, I'm very disappointed in Disney for not managing that traffic. Everyone is right. Those would have been spectacular in person.

Those fireworks were EPIC - I was watching the livestream show last night and my jaw dropped. Wishes, closesly follwed by Hallowwishes are my top fireworks shows ever...this blew them both out of the sky (literally!)

We got in (drove my car not disney bus) around 4pm so we missed the traffic nightmare others reported . it was hard to see the stage show and the jumbo trons showed a lot of graphics not always what was happening on stage. there was no clear info on what was happening when. 3-4 hour wait times to do autographs with a villain. long lines just to get into villains and vogue just to find out that at 4pm all the tshirts were already sold out. i ended up sitting in the park and ordering one online. there were lines out the doors for counter serve food venues and very long steady lines at the little food stands. was surprised that places like starring rolls as well as several other counter service places were closed when we got there and stayed that way all night despite the park hitting capacity. we stayed until a little after midnight so we didn't have any issues with traffic leaving like others did. i'd love love love to see more events with the villains where you don't need a separate ticket but wish it were more often and maybe like star wars weekends or food and wine to prevent this type of frustration.

oh and as for parking when they were parking us we were put in music row 48. it's the first row after the close lots just past the tree line break but as we were brought in we could see loads of empty spaces in the closer lots but they were keeping everyone together like typical directed disney parking.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
If July the 4th can last a full week, Friday the 13th should be able to as well. I think it would have been the professional thing to do.
People who were at both: how did the 13th fireworks compare to the Epcoth 30th tag?

Question: what are the logistical issues with having a firework show at DHS? IIRC it requires ting down the back of the park (I think LMA and Backlot Tour -- maybe Pixar Place as well?). Because I would love to see them add fireworks regularly to DHS, especially now that there is no parade. Would be a nice addition if a lot of the park ends up being closed for construction.

yes pixar place was blocked off. they shut down tsm at 10pm and roped off the area.

Thanks for posting that video, those fireworks looked INCREDIBLE!!!!

Also it was nice seeing some fireworks at the Studios, I remember loving Sorcery In the Sky when I was younger and we went (also got to see a building struck by lightening when we were waiting, that was sort of terrifying

I have long said that a hard ticket event at the Studios themed to villians geared at a slightly older crowd would be a great counter programing to Mickey's Not So Scary. Have it alternate nights so as not to directly compete (although last night's did actually run up against Not So Scary) and maybe even do some spooky walkthrough stuff. Not Haunted Houses persay, because I doubt that'd fly, but stuff themed to the villains lairs or their movies would be fun. Do up scary versions of the rides that can have upgrades (like add Sid to Toy Story Mania or create a new Tower drop profile) and bring out rare characters, like Oogie Boogie last night. They'd make bank and I'd sure as heck go.

If Disney decided to do a few Halloween nights at DHS, I think they should avoid Haunted House stuff. Uni has that covered and does it better than Disney ever would. No party at DHS could compete with HHN. Doing HHN Lite wouldn't cut it...neither would a slightly edgier MNSSHP. We have those events. DHS needs to be unique and do its own Disney thing.

They should stick to Villains, fireworks, Meet & Greets, music and shows. They have that BatB theater and the stage by the hat. They could do some awesome stuff.

I'd love to see a smallish Villain parade (or show) with that Twisted Sister "We're Not Gonna Take It" song. I'm a very limited demographic, though. :D Something along those lines. Villains. Rock. :) (And not the dreary, "Ooooh, the world sucks and I'm so cool and jaded because I hate everything" kind of rock. Upbeat. Pounding. Fun.)

Honestly, I see no reason it has to be Halloween themed at all. Any Friday the 13th is a fine excuse, if they need an excuse. Villain Fest would be great any time, though. IMO.

They could also just bring the villains out on a regular basis and make the park experience that much better. That's like heresy amongst Disney management, though! :)

I say if you're gonna do another one at DHS, hard ticket it to avoid conjestion. I tried to grab dinner off property and come back and it took 2 hours to get from DTD to Bonnet Creek, a 5 min drive normally... From in the park I heard characters had up to 3 hour lines, which isn't worth it. A hard ticket would fix that...

LOVED the Twisted Sisters idea. Where can I submit this to Disney management?

I'd really like to see something like this become a yearly event. It appears it had a lot of success and if it becomes a hard ticket event, there could be a more appropriately sized crowd present.

Knowing the TDO operation I would not be surprised if they don't bring it back as a upcharge event around Halloween based off tonights popularity.

I sure hope not...I am already tired of being told I have to leave the MK unless I pay almost an additional day fee to stay in the park for the special events. Disney should look at this event as a "value added" feature rather than "lets milk the cash cow" IMO.
