Trip Report Another Jolly Holiday ~ JOY From the World ! *COMPLETED*

At the conclusion of my last trip report
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/a-jingle-bam-birthday-completed.922901/
I ended with To be continued....

Well, here's the continuation. :) Though to be fair, the trips were totally different and not connected in any way except they both included Me (yep, a humble one I am!) And for the second time in a year, I left WDW only to return a week later. I am very grateful that I can visit my favorite place as often as I do and am honored that y'all follow along.

I booked this trip on a bounce back offer while vacationing last year:

And this year I may have booked a bounce back offer for December 2017. Okay, I did book. But my love/hate relationship with traveling in December and a few unknowns for the fall may cause me to cancel. Time will tell.

Ready to read about our latest adventures? There's DRAMA :jawdrop:. And ELEVATOR COOKIES . And maybe even a RED CARD ;).

Dates: December 10-15, 2016
Resort: Disney's Wilderness Lodge (duh....it's Christmas!)
Cast: Tuvalu and Woody

We walked towards the Muppet courtyard and glanced over the wall at the sad remains of New York Street.
(Must not think about Osborne Lights. Must not think about Osborne Lights. Must not think about Osborne Lights.)
I can't stop thinking about Osborne Lights!!! :arghh:

Then we saw this.

WHY? WHY? WHY?

A waterless fountain?? WTH?? (That's heck again, @amjt660)

To cheer us up, I decided Woody needed to see inside PizzeRizzo.

He thoroughly enjoyed checking it out. (And no, @Courtney6682, I still don't know if there is Rizzo merchandise for sale. ;) :joyfull:)
Noooo!!! Why did they get rid of the water?? It was so nice!

Sunday, December 11

Not knowing if the broken elevator was repaired overnight, Woody and I thought it best to have breakfast in Roaring Fork (rather than one of us bringing breakfast up to the room) and head to the park immediately afterwards. It was a good decision since the elevator was indeed still broken.

Roaring Fork opens at 6:30 am but according to a posted sign hot food is not served until 7:30 am (which seems late, considering guests may want a hot breakfast before arriving in time for an 8 am EMH.) We both had a hankering for Mickey waffles, and even though it was now 7:40 am the queue area was roped off and no orders were being taken. o_O So Woody grabbed a yogurt and I grabbed a muffin (the high-fiber, packed full of vitamins double chocolate kind). We paid and found a table. It then occurred to me that our two small items shouldn't have cost what we were charged so I glanced at the receipt and saw yogurt parfait. Funny, yogurt parfaits are made at the same station where you order hot food ~ which was roped off.

I returned to the CM and explained his error. He was apologetic but unable to refund the difference owed me ~ he had to call for a manager. (Seriously???!!) Breakfast was becoming quite the disappointment. Woody had no idea what was taking me so long. The manager finally gave me my refund and we were able to eat.

Okay, @LadyBelle, which park are we going to today?

Yay! We made the Welcome Show!
Boo! It's the dull Dapper Dan! :( (Don't let the wave fool you.)

No train, no train sequence, no fireworks. BLAH!!!!!!

The family chosen to "open the park" was from our hometown though.

Is the countdown calendar correct?

We stopped for a couple pictures on our way to Fantasyland.

I noticed most people in long pants--must have been nice to have cooler temps that time of year. The one thing I hate about WDW is the humidity and heat. Looks like you picked a nice time to visit!
Funny you should say this. Our first two days were pleasant....then hot! I was not prepared for hot and regretted not packing shorts and tees. Live and learn!
