The problem with Constance, besides the inexcusable execution of a badly aligned projection on what is clearly just a dress form dummy, is that it has a tone not present elsewhere in the ride. Everything is one certain style, then you get to the attic and it's like, what the heck was that? It makes no sense AND it's poorly done. It's not creepy, it's not scary, it's just DUMB.

Agreed with this. Everything in the attic is colored wrong. Most of the ghosts in HM are green... and there's Constance, glowing in white and blue light. It's very awkward. Similar complaints can be tagged onto how the clutter in the attic is obviously lit, which contrasts with the hanging gloom of the rest of the Mansion.

Not Hatbox Ghost yet.... Could it be this instead? A bride that combines the aesthetics of both the old and the new. Image taken from Disney official blog last year. Not likely, but if they do plan on axing Connie...I'd be pleased as punch.

I doubt they'd axe (hahahah) Connie... but I'd like it if they did!

The light from the attic reflects on the ballroom glass, which clearly reveals the effect once you reach the dancers.

Thankfully, I've not seen that in WDW.

If the Hatbox Ghost does make a return to the attic I wonder if Constance will be downgraded to the original beating heart bride as per the original show script in which the heart beats in unison with Hatty's head disapearing and reappearing in the hat box.

Or...if the "Story and Songs of the Haunted Mansion" LP gets a nod in the attraction by actually having the Hatbox Ghost lunge at us forcing us to "fall" out the attic window

I fully support the downgrading of Constance.
I miss when she was mysterious and sorrowful and we could draw our own conclusions and she wasn't clearly a murderess spewing puns and making faces.
Her tech, along with the new (in WDW) Hitchhiking Ghost scene in the mirrors feel so very out of place to me.

I like the new hitchhiking ghosts. When I went with my best friend a while back (4th grade) we rode together and were suprised to see we traded heads! We weren't sure if we saw it wrong or not, but it was a grand finale for me.

The ride literally stopped right in front of him for the person filming so it's like 30 secs of nothing but Hatbox Ghost goodness! The effect is pretty cool and I bet more convincing in person as you won't see the flickering of the video in his face when not looking through a camera.

Caught him a couple times this morning (among the very first in the ride today). Love how he turned out. Definitely one of the most memorable HM experiences I may ever have.
