Another 24 Hours of Disney Event?

Has anyone else heard any rumors of this? This was posted in MiceChat...

• March 29, 2013: Monstrous Summer: In an attempt to help the limp Limited Time Magic campaign, and to kick off the upcoming "Monstrous Summer" marketing slogan, Disney will bring back a surprise hit from last year - the 24 Hour Party. On Friday May 24th the all night party into Saturday morning will be held in both Disneyland and DCA. After last year's party devolved into a near-riot at the main entrance after 9PM, while everyone above lower-management went home at 5PM and missed the anarchy, you can bet the senior suits will be there late this time. Disneyland's parking department is planning for gridlocked streets and backed up freeways again, and it promises to be a logistical nightmare for everyone. A smaller 24 hour party will also be held that night at WDW's Magic Kingdom Park. -Al Lutz ×1

I was at MK for the event...was such a madhouse I gave up around midnight... If I was by myself it might have been manageable, but I was pushing a friend in a wheelchair and crowds and wheelchairs don't mix. Especially the way I drive.

Had a blast at One More Disney Day, so I'll make every effort to be in Disneyland & DCA for this. Magic Kingdom has "better" attractions for an event like this (e.g. Carousel of Progress, Country Bear Jamboree, TTA), but the atmosphere at Disneyland is tough to beat. Plus, walking between DCA and Disneyland gives it the easy trump card.

It costs Disney very little to do it and it will get lots of coverage. Not a bad plan.

I would agree with you if it was a WDW only event. However, l don't think DLR cares about SWO. I found and read up on it on micechat last night and it sounds like this is a DLR idea and they just added MK into it.

Speaking of SWO, anyone think Antarctica will have soft openings???? Maybe before May 11th???????????

If another 24 hour thing will help, then I guess go for it DISNEY!

"Hey! The competition is opening up a groundbreaking new attraction! What's the simplest and cheapest way to combat that with out actually building anything?"

I'm sure management won't mind both parks at capacity with lines waiting to get in. Though I imagine there will be more of a security presence in the Esplanade.
