Another version of “pulling a Star Wars”
😀

I can see some. But I’m realistic; and I think some romanticize things to the point of distortion. Not everything is going to be groundbreaking and mind-blowing, and not everything ever was (Snow White, etc.)

I like that they experiment with different things that don’t last forever.

I don’t think any single attraction blew me away on my first visit. But I missed it when I got home lol. It was the whole experience that was more than, “I want to ride a rollercoaster.” It was exploring, finding something big or small, amazing or meh around every corner.

That really can’t happen anymore after you get to know the place like the back of your hand. We can’t expect it.

You know I criticize when I think it’s fair. I think the concept of SW was totally off, and I’m disappointed by that. I hope people enjoy it, and I’m sure I will to some degree; though I’d have preferred much more of a Potterverse treatment re: 4,5,6.

I’m not mad at them over it. They don’t owe me anything but my money’s worth (subjective.)

It seems like all kinds of updates are in the works, and when I go back for the 50th, I’ll have some of that “peek around every corner” noticing big and little, good and “bad” things vs. my trip tomorrow.
From 1955-1995, Disney parks rolled out a new major addition approximately once a year on average...

Now times change and new parks don’t make sense...but there is plenty of add on space or mothball space to do that to their parks now.

Blue ocean. They are charging more and more for less reward. We have to start to push a little.

But Xi Might help us there...stay tuned

The other site is just reading from here AGAIN! I may have been the first one mentioning SCREENZ involved in the carousel months ago and was recently corroborated by others recently. Last I heard its still a spinner where the SCREENZ will transport you through different scenes...different but no dark ride

Oops. Sorry. I, of all people should have known better. I saw it and forget to catalog it!

I'm really excited about this and it seems like a no-brainer. Mary Poppins is a classic and already meet-n-greets there (in a random spot outside) and now she will have a proper place. I really hope it's a dark ride however there is not much space left in that area unless they took down the Showplace tent which they still use alot.

I'm wondering if they will try to use existing street-scene that is there or tear it down and start fresh. I hope we start to see construction and movement soon. This is all due to more people in this part of the park because of the Skyliner station.

This board makes it a downer for me because all these otherwise exciting announcements/confirmations are met with cynicism, skepticism, criticism, and supercalifraggingpessimism.

“The magic is gone” alright - from here, I’m afraid.

Agreed. Think I’m checking out for a bit. Need a bit more positivity. I’m more a glass half full guy I suppose. Later all.

Color me surprised that the Poppins attraction is that ambitious. Hmmm...Cherry Tree Lane AND Admiral Boom's...seems to me I mentioned those concepts here once or twice in the past... ;)

But what we know so far is very rudimentary, of course. I wonder if the ride itself will be patterned after Peter Pan's Flight in any way - the one in Shanghai? Umbrella vehicles or carousel-horse vehicles? Will we be soaring "over the rooftops of London?" Interesting. Thank god we didn't get "Brave"! :p

If we’re really getting an indoor carousel with screens to replicate the journey into the cartoon world I’m on board. It sounds fun.

I do think it’s really weird they didn’t elaborate at all. It makes me think they’re still debating exactly what they’re going to do with it.

Or avoiding the backlash by not announcing it's a carousel.

The revealed concept art looks even nicer than the earlier plans I discussed here weeks ago and Martin confirmed. This really bodes well for Epcot.

Doesn't look like a dark ride to me - they would have said 'ride' if they meant ride.

Looks more like Enchanted Tales with Mary.

Which I'm fine with - I would have been fine with a carousel. UK has nothing else going on.
Did he say “ride” or “attraction”?
To recap. The only actually announcement for all 6 resorts across the globe. IS NOT A RIDE.

Disney refers to everything as an attraction. They never call something a ride.

So it could be anything from a M&G to a Carousel to a nice C-Ticket Dark Ride to a Poppins Coaster. They are all attractions in Disney's view.

Wait, so this one goes to Jim Hill then?

Jim Hill said recently that Poppins had been cancelled due to the results of Returns.

Based on the concept art, this looks to be in the area below in yellow. And there is a pretty large space for an attraction. I do hope it’s a ride.

I like the idea, would be cool if it’s a small dark ride that explores the many adventures of marry poppins. But, an indoor carousel would be cool also.

If they do something along the lines of enchanted tales with Belle, that would work to.
