So, it's now officially confirmed. Epcot's getting a trackless carousel coaster.

It would be interesting to have three carousels on a turntable, so one could be loading while the other two are rotating through their "scenes".

Is putting your kids on the carousel and then sitting off-carousel and watching them go around still a thing?
If they pull the effect off well, you won’t be able to sense that your carousel is rotating on a turntable with other carousels. They realized they needed to up the capacity after observing lines outside of K-Mart.

This just in, coming to the UK: Bert's Friend Zone

Oh, it's a jolly holiday with you, Bert
Gentlemen like you are few
Though you're just a diamond
In the rough, Bert
Underneath your blood is blue!
You'd never think of pressing
Your advantage

Forbearance is the hallmark of your creed
A lady needn't fear when you are near
Your sweet gentility is crystal clear!
Oh, it's a jolly holiday with you, Bert
A jolly, jolly holiday with you!

...thinking management wanted to spend one cent more than minimum necessary to achieve the profit goals their statistical analysis told them was required by the stockholders - at a minimum.

Tis not so

But how does this coincide with the argument that WDW always WAY overspends when they build new rides? If their only goal when spending money is to do it as cheap as possible, why would they not negotiate better bids? I would argue they don't do things on the cheap, far from it in fact. They have been willing to spend tons of money if reports are accurate. They just are no longer good at getting the most out of the exuberant amounts of money they spend. Something goes wrong in the process after funds are approved. There can't be two contradictory arguments on the same topic: WDW management is so cheap!! Look how much they overpaid for this ride!!!

Because they are notoriously bad at budgets and WDI is borderline criminal with them.

So have a daily stock ticker driven bunch of business school clowns analyzing the numbers in the dwarf house...and your “art/engineering” spending like drunken sailors in Singapore....

And they are a contradiction in terms.

That’s what they have. Not moving forward with enough projects to maintain their quality long term...and blowing the budget in epic proportions for the ones they do....

Some of them are doozies...like test track and the yeti frozen coaster...and money pits like Aulani.

So the response now is for “over budget” and then cut it down..creating a PR sham. Which is what basically happened with “new fantasyland”

And it may be happening again. Did anyone see the aerials or Star Wars...specifically the millennium falcon ride?
What did you notice?

It's as much of a thing as watching them reach for the brass ring!
