Wait, there's a live action Sword in the Stone planned? Is there ANY cartoon Disney isn't going to make live action? LMAO ... I swear I hadn't heard of that one. I'd love it, it's one of my earliest memories of a Disney movie and I love it but still ... I'm still scratching my head over Dumbo being made into live action. I know many are against Lion King but after seeing Jungle Book and how good that was, I'm all for Lion King. None of these HAVE to "ruin" the animated versions. You can choose not to go see it ...

They probably don't even know what Sword in the Stone is anymore. I'm partially kidding and I agree it'd be great but we know they aren't going with that one.
All I want is a decent Arthurian movie.

That's all I want.

I love all of the legends, but the over all quality of adaptions have been lacking. TSitS was a pretty faithful (IMO) adaption of the story, but everything since has been so-so (not including the musical Camelot, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail doesn't count either). I didn't like 'King Arthur', I thought Merlin was okay (I hate what happened to Lancelot), and the Guy Ritchie film looks like it's only loosely based on Arthurian legend. If Disney manages to make a decent live action Sword in the Stone film, they could make a sequel based on the next book in the series. This could be their next Pirates if they play their cards right, and a ride could be a possibility if the movie's a hit.

I agree. I've been disappointed in other things that have been done with that period.

I still think they made a mistake re-doing Pete's Dragon instead of it being a Dreamfinder and Figment movie based on the comics. I really think Figment has such potential as a movie :(

I actually think they've done a great job with their live action adaptations. I didn't care much for Maleficent but it wasn't a retelling of the Sleeping Beauty movie. I'm a bit cautious on Mary Poppins Returns though. I think if they could have gotten away with it they would have remade the original but went with a "sequel" ... I think that's pushing it but we'll see. It could be great. I really don't think Dumbo is necessary though. I think Aladdin and Mermaid have great potential as well.

That I don't know. You'd think so wouldn't you?

Or at least more of it.
I would bet France through Norway (the northern route)--which is actually already the case. When Frozen opened, they also opened Mexico at 9 am to absorb crowds. Apparently it didn't work--by February, Mexico was back to an 11 am-open.

I could we will be seeing O' Canada at 9 am. Maybe Impressions de...whomever.

The options for UK are quite numerous if you think about all of the possible movies. Obviously outside of Poppins ( on its way) and Brave there is not a "modern" or new Disney movie that lends itself to the UK. So that would mea if its not one of those two they would have to reach into the vault. Dalmations, Sword & Stone, Robin Hood, Pan. Since Pan is already represented at MK, I think thats out. Personally, Im a huge fan of Robin Hood and would love an attraction based on that, but I guess you never know since this will possibly be a deep reach for them anyway.

Disney should acquire the rights to Mary Stewart's Arthurian novels... The Crystal Cave, The Hollow Hills, The Last Enchantment, and maybe even The Wicked Day. Those were a thoroughly realistic, historically based telling of the legend with just enough "magic" to keep it interesting.

I know the teacups are a MK staple... but ideas thinking it would be interesting to rethteme tea cups to the hunny pot spin from Shanghai and then create the proposed Alice expansion from MK to UK pavilion. A maze, tea cups, themed food and a copy of the DO dark ride uodated. All armchair stuff of course!

Who are we kidding we all know it's gonna be a Mary Poppins ride bc of the new movie coming out. If it's a dud then there's still the classic version.

I still wish they would add a walk through of a ship of the line or a dreadnaught. It'd be badas*.

I wish we could get a few more hints ... LOL
Same.

Maybe it's because nothing is set in stone? With France at least we knew it was between BatB and Rat. It sounds like there are more than two options here, so I don't blame the insiders for being tightlipped.

I just wish that someone could tell us what it most definitely will not be. That's a little easier to narrow down, right? :p

So what would everyone think about Alice attraction...is a maze considered an attraction?
Yep, a maze is an attraction. Both Paris and Shanghai have Alice mazes. Paris has the original film, and Shanghai has the Burton version.

My biggest issue with an Alice attraction in the UK is that the majority of the movie takes place in Wonderland, not the UK. Not like that matters to Disney anymore (cough, Frozen, cough).
