A.K. Lodge

Stayed there in August, the room we had was equipped with 2 Queen beds. I have seen diagrams with 1 Queen & bunk beds. These are the standard rooms. Maybe the deluxe rooms & suites are different. It's a beautiful place, you'll love it.

Pretty much like any other Disney resort. Only thing is that this one is much nicer. I loved it, and you should too. The pool is the coolest and the scenary, especially the lobby will leave a memorable impression on you. I loved grabbing a beer at night at sitting by the indoor fireplaces and relaxing. SIMPLY AWESOME!!

Just back

We just got back and you should definitely stay there if you can. I think it is now our favorite place to stay. Here is a photo (avatar) of my new baby, they are just this cute! We had a room with a queen and bunk beds. I think that you can get a room with a day bed also, like at the GF and Y&B Club. Check into that. If you can meet your needs, don't pass this resort up. Glad we didn't! Have a great trip.

How many people does each room sleep in the Animal Kingdom Lodge?

It depends...how do you feel about breaking rules? ;) You could put 2 kids feet to feet in each bunk, 3 people in the king bed (deluxe bunk room) 2 sleeping bags on the floor, and if you have an infant, set that old port-a-crib up in the bathroom. Voila'...it sleeps 10! Ooooh, I forgot the balcony...as long as you put insect repellent on, you could sack out there! ;)

Seriously, the maximum occupancy per standard or deluxe room is either 4-5, or 5-6 if you have a crib baby.

But that's only after you've tipped the bellman $40! :animwink:

How many people do you need it to fit? I think you'll really love AKL. The rooms aren't huge, but I loved the theme and the dim lighting. It was great to come back from a full day at the parks and relax in such a comforting atmosphere.

Take jcmayid advice about grabbing a beer (or some kind of drink) and sitting at the fireplaces, it's so relaxing. My favorite thing was going to the pool at night before the bar closed and getting a specialty drink and enjoying being outside around the pool area.
