Animal Kingdom expansion?

So very true. Joe Rhode put it so well when he said "Slow down. Take a look around". This is a message I wish Disney would try to drive home a little more when promoting AK.

This is part of the reason why I love the centralized fastpass at the AK. I won't feel rushed to run to the Safari or Everest to grab a fastpass, and then run to the other when the park opens. Sure, others will be doing this as well but it certainly helps to give guests a chance to stop and smell the roses so to say.

I would like to see a little more as well but even if it remained as is I would still love it. I think the purposed MI concept would really take AK over the top. I would also love to see an additional jungle trek added as well. If they could do that fitting the MI theme with Lucky style AA's I would be in heaven.

Oh, I love the park, it's my second favorite!

But yes, a few rides, and one more trek and it would probably be my number one.

Remove Dino-rama, use part of that area for Australia with a walk through and a ride, and the other part for a dark ride based on other extinct animals, and that area of the park would be significantly improved. Add in whatever land they eventually use to replace Camp Minnie Mickey, and the park could be astounding.

I'd rather see South America with an Indiana Jones ride than Australia.

I agree, and Dinorama adds fun for the kids which DAK was lacking before. They need to connect CMM and Africa (like they did with Asia and Dinoland). That park gets VERY hot and they should have a water parade of some kind. Maybe add some water to Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade.

The "slow down and take a look around" doesn't work for the majority of people who go to Animal Kingdom on vacation. Which is why they had to change their philosophy and add Everest in the first place. No one was returning after going there the first time.

The people who go there to appreciate the nuances and atmosphere don't even come close to the people who visit a theme park for the attractions. You can have both. Animal Kingdom needs a Mysterious Island. And it wouldn't do a thing to hurt your Stop and look around" visits.

I think the idea that AK has to have enough rides and shows to keep you busy from 8 AM to 10 PM misses the whole point of the park.

They did an incredible job getting the theming and atmosphere in Africa and Asia just right, down to the most minute details. And they didn't stop when the park opened - look at Expedition Everest and more recently Yak and Yeti (perfectly themed to its location even though it's owned by Landry, not Disney).

And although it's "nahtazu" its zoo elements are far better than you can find at almost any actual zoo. Not only the Safari Ride, but the Pangani Forest Trail and Maharajah Jungle Trek.

Why should AK be judged by the content of the other three parks? Sure, it's different - it was supposed to be. Give WDW some credit. The list of "attractions" may be shorter than at other parks, but the average quality of them is higher. The theming of the countries at Epcot is very good, but it doesn't compare to Asia and Africa at AK.

And Scene! Took the words out of my mouth.

Everest has amazing detail, and is both thrilling and eye candy. GJ Imagineers!

I don't think anyone was against MI.

So it's a version of JttCotE, a ride whose most iconic feature is that it takes place inside a volcano, with everything except the volcano?

Maybe it'll actually take place closer to the center of the earth!
Version is a good term for it. It legally has to be different from the one in TDS.

As would I. SA could be huge for the park.

Just look at TDS...:D

I wasn't at all, but I would have liked something more original for DHS.

I disagree. I think Big Thunder Mountain is a better themed coaster, but when everything is working (which is a huge caveat), the effects in Everest are impressive.
I would tend to agree. BTMRR has ton of little effects where E:E has a few small ones and one really big one. It also does not help that is seems like none of them seem to work on E:E
