Animal Kingdom expansion?

Journery To The Center Of The Earth taking place within a Dragon's Layer would be perfect... If that's what's happening.

"A land to do with dragons" but not beastly kingdom? anyone else find that odd, what would it be then

Until any official announcement, I say take this with a grain of salt. I thought all expansion money for WDW was tied up into the FantasyLand refurb, no?

I would be really surprised if anything happened at Animal Kingdom in the next few years. I think the MK needs to go first then a new country in Epcot and then some more coasters in the studios.

I might be in the minorty, but I think Animal Kingdom is in the most need. At least there is a Fantasy Land to refurb, meaning there's something there already. And the last thing Epcot needs right now is another country. What it does need is some money thrown at Future World, and/or the country's that are already there need to be expanded and added on to.

Animal Kingdom hardly has anything.

I think it will go like this:

Magic Kingdom
Epcot
Animal Kingdom
Hollywood Studios

I think DHS will be the last place to get anything new if things keep up the way they are. Epcot and Animal Kingdom could happen at the same time. However, once Disney spends $$$ on Magic Kingdom, I don't think we will see anything for a year or two. I think they are going to want to give the new updates their time to shine. Expanding the other parks too soon will steal it's thunder. Especially if Disney really wants this to be the rival for Harry Potter.

Depending on economy and park attendance, I disagree (respectfully). I think it will go:
1) MK
2) DHS
3) Epcot
4) AK

We know MK is getting some love. We know DHS needs it and there's a lot of Pixar place plans waiting to be executed (Monsters Inc.). We know Epcot is allowed to rot  and that AK is fine as is until there's a nighttime addition. AK is really a full day (8 hour) park if you do rides and shows. Trying to catch FotLK and Nemo as well as the other attractions takes the day unless there are 0 lines.

My post was personal opinion. And form reports, the Monsters Inc. plans have been axed.

I dont have a list, I think Disney should multi-task and give each park something ;)

As are mine... no worries.
I think Monsters will get resurrected. It's a good ride already designed so only cost is construction (also opinion).

DHS is in need of help so I think it still gets the attention, Pixar Place was not meant to be one ride and a lamp.

If the D23 announcements for WDW are Fantasyland and Star Tours 2.0 with no additions to AK or Epcot (meaning no Soarin' Over the World for now), I think Animal Kingdom will definitely suffer at the hands of Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Fantasyland Expansion.

I hope you are right. Lets hope the second one does really, really well. :)

I think the idea that AK has to have enough rides and shows to keep you busy from 8 AM to 10 PM misses the whole point of the park.

They did an incredible job getting the theming and atmosphere in Africa and Asia just right, down to the most minute details. And they didn't stop when the park opened - look at Expedition Everest and more recently Yak and Yeti (perfectly themed to its location even though it's owned by Landry, not Disney).

And although it's "nahtazu" its zoo elements are far better than you can find at almost any actual zoo. Not only the Safari Ride, but the Pangani Forest Trail and Maharajah Jungle Trek.

Why should AK be judged by the content of the other three parks? Sure, it's different - it was supposed to be. Give WDW some credit. The list of "attractions" may be shorter than at other parks, but the average quality of them is higher. The theming of the countries at Epcot is very good, but it doesn't compare to Asia and Africa at AK.

So very true. Joe Rhode put it so well when he said "Slow down. Take a look around". This is a message I wish Disney would try to drive home a little more when promoting AK.

While I agree. I can do that and all the attractions, and be done the park in a good 6 hours. 2-3 more rides would really complete the park for me.

I would like to see a little more as well but even if it remained as is I would still love it. I think the purposed MI concept would really take AK over the top. I would also love to see an additional jungle trek added as well. If they could do that fitting the MI theme with Lucky style AA's I would be in heaven.
