Crazy. Never noticed it before. Zooming in it looks like they've put construction equipment on site. Hope they do something. :)

It was part of the second WDW Tree farm, cleared in the mid 90`s when the park was being built but Tiger River Rapids was scaled down into Kali and so it was never developed.

Hate to tell you this, but that area has been "under construction" since the park opened.

Oh, what could have been...

Wow, that would have been AWESOME. I didn't even know about this concept. I have long thought that AK needed a boat ride with exterior and interior sections. It's such a shame that the entirety of Animal Kingdom in its original vision was not created. It could have been the best Disney park.

I'll be as simple as possible

DAK was supposed to be about 3 new e-tickets more than it has now on opening day

1.) The Extractor- Dinoland rollercoaster through a haunted boneyard (Dinorama occupies this area)
2.) Dragon Tower- Beastly Kingdom roller coaster e-ticket with a massive Dragon AA (nothing occupies this area)
3.) Tiger River Run (what you're talking about)- The water rapid version of Kilamanjaro Safaris with Asian animals like tigers and monkeys.

Funds got cut and the land cleared for TRR and BK is now left abandoned. But you never know what the future holds.

Sigh... such an exciting thread title. If only it were true. :(

This kinda takes me back to my very first couple of posts though, I asked a question about that exact same plot of land.

True! You never know! Hopefully AK will get some love sometime in this new decade.

I knew about Beastly Kingdom but I had never heard about this water ride. Thanks for starting the thread. I find the info about attraction that never was really interesting.
