Remember AK had been open till midnight or later for each Expedition Everest Challenge AfterParty, most all non animal attractions. The lighting was always awesome, so I can only imagine how neat this park will look with the new enhancements.

Fire on kali ? Than its not awesone....

I went to AK last night at 9pm. I was hoping to catch the second jungle book show but didn't manage to get in even with the park mostly emptied because of an earlier rainstorm.

We were able to walk on its tough to be a bug, dinosaur and the safari.

The safari at nightt was interesting. Definitely creepier. We were sitting behind the driver and I just had this impression that he was having to be extra cautious and not quite comfortable driving that track in the low lighting.

Also the 'sunset effect' is awful. I didnt understand what it was for a few minutes. It ws distracting and too bright. Mainly deer, cattle, giraffe and elephants were out. No lion :(

I was in the park last night, we missed the jungle book show as well due to the rain but we went on the safari more towards closing, I personally thought the sunset effect was gorgeous. We saw a lion on top of the rocks, it was really cool!

I wonder if I ran into you.

The safari was...surreal. It had just rained so it was wet and quiet and you could hear the water dripping from the trees and the suspension squeaking on the tires. Definitely a different experience from the day. I'm not sure what changes the attraction will see, but it is a STRANGE ride. Basically, it's a slow ride through the woods.

I caught the second show. It was...interesting. My wife loved it. For what it is, it's a neat show. It needs a bit of polishing, and I hope it doesn't last the summer. It's a good interim show, but I will be upset if this is the show we end up with.

I live close enough to WDW to get the same weather, so another wet night at AK if they are getting the same storm with very heavy rain and lightning. Started about 10:35 so the late 10:30 show probably washed out again.

My first thought on seeing the sunset was forest fire. When I got a closer look I thought, oh, I see it. Very nice. But it is too bright.

We saw a cheetah run across it's area and it freaked out our driver a bit. And the lioness looked like she wanted to come after us. :)

Disney really ought to add thermal imagers linked to a screen for the night safari. As for the lioness she probably did all those nice pink slow moving lion snacks no hooves or horns ...

Maybe Disney needs to install some sort of led light strip on the path or some kind of reflective markers for the drivers? I've heard several reports of drivers being very slow and extra cautious. I'm sure it's also because they don't want to accidentally hit an animal they may not see as well

Reflective markers along the sides might help them a bit.
I'm not a huge fan of the spot lights Disney is using either. I felt blinded a few times by looking at them. Even better... we need Night Vision goggles!
