Trip Report And When it's Time to Find Home. We know the Way!! Aue Aue

Good Morning all my Disney loving friends! We just hit the road and our first destination is Charlotte, NC. However, before I get ahead of myself, it is our normal crew, myself, Deighton (I turn the big 5 0 this year), Den my husband and our 3 kids. Hunter who is 20 and is now bartending... Camden 13 still an avid lacrosse player and fisherman and the youngest Brinley, 9 for now but on August 10 she will turn 10 in Disney World.

Here is a brief schedule of the next 2 weeks. As I stated earlier we will arriving in Charlotte, NC around 4 pm today. We have reservations at a southern BBQ restaurant (let the feeding frenzy begin). Tomorrow, we leave early to get to Savannah Georgia as soon as possible. We have a lot that we want to do here but the weather is not showing that it is going to cooperate. Hopefully the weather man is as wrong in Savannah as they are in
Pittsburgh!

After a night in Savannah, we are headed to Disney Springs for 2 days. We have reservations in Disney Springs and this is when we will do some resort hopping. Then it is home to The Boardwalk for 9 nights with a seven day hopper. Then back to Charlotte to meet up with my brother and his family. Then sadly home and back to the grind! I will post more details shortly!

Thanks for following and thanks to all of you who take the time to do Trip Reports! You have no idea how much it keeps me going💞

Well, after a long drive to Charlotte we got in around 5pm. The drive was quite eventful! We had fog, pouring rain, flooded streets, and more accidents than I can count along the way. After checking into our hotel and dropping off luggage, we headed out to eat at Midwood BBQ.

We started with queso and chips, guacamole and smoked wings.View attachment 874368View attachment 874369
The apps were all fantastic. Sorry no pics of Brin's favorite guacamole ever!
The boys both got brisket tacos with hush puppies.View attachment 874370
Den and I "split" a platter of smoked food!

I had one bite of everything and Den had a few bites or more of everything. Sadly, staying at a hotel we couldn't bring leftovers. For anyone who is passing by the area, I would definitely recommend trying this place out!!

Now we are just laughing in the hotel watching the kids play with their oculus. Early to bed, we are up early to hopefully tour around Savannah.
That BBQ loos great! Excited to follow along!

Big menu, lots of options, everything was great! Den and I split a salad and spicy shrimp appetizer. Cam had queso dip and smoked bacon mac n cheese. Hunter had a delicious tuna poke bowl. Brin had, wait for it, chicken tenders and mashed potatoes. View attachment 874854View attachment 874855View attachment 874856View attachment 874857
Again, there were plenty of leftovers but we have other plans... so no togos!
City Works is so good! My niece and I loved in on our trip last summer!

How much is Brin loving that neck fan? I brought the same one with me in July '24, and couldn't have made it through without it
Thanks so much for following and your input! Brin's fan is a hand me down fan...however I should have kept that one and given her the new one. Lol. The new one lasts approximately 1 hour....ugh. My old one lasts about 12 hours. See what happens when I am greedy!!🤣🤣🤣 City Works is a hidden gem! Shhh....

I knew where you were the first 2 times but due to my lovely job I’m just catching up now. I’m stumped as to where this one is. I’m thinking Raglan Road, possibly??
Also, I can’t believe how much older/mature Cam looks all of a sudden. I thought that last time I saw him but I can really see it now!!
Also, I’m very impressed with his food choices!! He seems to be expanding his horizons!!

You guessed correct. Raglan Road is where we were eating dinner. Den was definitely on a food frenzy yesterday! R can sleep! Den can eat!! 🤣
Cam is, definitely, turning into a teenager and so is his mouth... I am proud of all the kids! They are all making diverse food choices!
Hopefully, there is an end in sight at work soon but we know how that goes... thanks for checking in.

Ok... so where I left off...after City Works, we took the bus to the Polynesian. Our goals was to get on the list for Trader Sam's and try out the Wailulu Bar and Grill.

Needless to say no one was hungry so Cam decided on the bus that we should take a monorail ride. Q mystery music... we all get off the bus and there are monorail signs that point to the left...Den starts walking to the left Cam follows... I tell him to turn around and go to the main building. Nope off he goes and silly Cam follows. My bright children, Hunter and Brinley, stick with me! Off we go in separate directions and all i can do is shake my head. There is more to say here but
let it go GIF

Well, Den walked to the parking lot monorail... so the 3 of us took a lap without them!

We got off the monorail and Den and Cam were already in line for Trader Sam's. I thought it was a little premature but the line was already forming and it ended up being perfect! I went and switched places in line with Den and off the 3 guys went to ride the monorail. At 1:30 the door opened and we were 3rd in line on the list.

Off Brin and I went to join the walk up list at the Wailulu Bar and Grill. We were seated immediately. The guys arrived 10 minutes later.

Hibiscus tea

Brin had oolong tea and for some reason eating hibiscus flowers became a thing thanks to the 57 year old who still acts like a teenager. I am not naming names!🤣🤣

Cam wanted fries and Den wanted to try the crunchy wings. I had one, as I was still stuffed from lunch and they were delicious. By the way the banana old fashioned is delicious, too! Plus, more antics!

Vanilla creme brulee with the best raspberries ever. I just had a taste of each. I don't know what it is about Dole whip but it is just so... Disney!

We waited 5 minutes for a Disney Springs bus and off we went on a very crowded bus. Den decided...wait for it...that he was hungry so we made 6pm dining reservations for Raglan Road. It was 530 so I went to grab a table outside, a Smithwick and a Guiness while Den checked in. Next, thing you know, he was calling saying the table was already, ready.

Irish soda bread which doesn't come with your meal anymore like the good old days. Half of it made it back to the hotel.
