Wait to do Walk in Walt's Footsteps until after they finish the Club 33 overhaul. ;) It's a great tour, tho. Loved being in Walt's apartment!

After our first trip to DLR our family is pretty much on the same page. There's so much other stuff we'd like to see/do in California. If $$ were no object I'd fly to San Francisco, spend a few days, drive Hwy 1 down, stay at the GCH, do DL parks in the mornings and do other stuff in the afternoons/evenings. Our teenagers both say the same thing: "I'd do Disneyland again but I want to go on another cruise first."

That is pretty much what we did last month. Flew into San Fran, spent two days there, went to Mt. View visited with friends there for a few days, went to Monterey for a day and night, drove the 17 mile drive and down Hwy 1, spent a night in Morro Bay, though if I were to do it again I would stay at San Luis Obispo (pretty little city, added our gum to bubble gum alley). Continued to Anaheim for three nights and three days. Stayed one night on Queen Mary and visited the USS Iowa (I am a former crew member) and got to show the family where I used to work and live while on board. Then finished the trip up in Studio City / Universal area for a couple of days. We saw alot, but we also didn't see alot. Wife will never do the PCH again, beautiful drive but she gets very motion sick. So if we were to do this again, it would have to be I-5 between the two areas.

How was the Queen Mary?

It was...ok...overpriced for what it was. Good to say that I did it, but will never do it again. AC did not work in the room so i was stuffy, even with porthole open. Room (I'm sorry, cabin) was large, 2 queen beds with plenty of extra space, but it felt dated, and not in a very nice way like a Bed & Breakfast does. More like how a dated HoJo might, but at $300 a night with having to pay $18 parking, in the middle of an industrial pier. Food was really overpriced too and not a great selection. It was really cool to be able to walk around the whole ship, including the engineroom, but not worth the cost of a night stay.

I think it's overpriced as well.
