Is Mario Party the game that you have to balance the broom on the hand, pluck a fish out of the pond, clean off the plate, etc.?

I've heard from many people that WarioWare is horrible.

I hooked it up for the first time last night and just played the Wii sports game...it's really fun...but I can definitely see it being more fun with more people. (I hit a 656ft home run! )
I've heard WarioWare isn't good as well. As far as Mario Party goes - there's different "minigames" in each Mario Party game released. I don't remember one with a broom or a clean plate... but I haven't played them ALL (there's 8 I think now).

We played a bit last night. Some mini games were: water skiing, blancing on an iceburg, shooting paint balls, running a gauntlet, etc. The picture is really bothering me though. We're going to have to buy that cable or switch to another TV.

One other thing that bothers me are Wiimotes' battery life. Those things need new batteries all the time. We're thinking about looking for rechargable ones.

Nope that is WarioWare that you are talking about...it is actually pretty fun once you start playing. When you first look at the game it looks stupid, but when I started playing I couldn't stop.

We have a Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360 (all played on a high def TV) The Wii definetly gets the most playing time. I'm not really sure how everything is hooked up, but I'd be willing to bet there are special cables involved (DH is a technology junkie).

I can't wait to get Mario Party. We like to play Wii Sports with our friends (DH has convinced 4 of his other co-residents to get a Wii:lol: )...I'm hoping that Mario Party will give us something else fun to play.

Hi Kat! We got the rechargable ones with the charging stand (I think it was about $30). It works great. When you're done playing you just put them in the charger....when it is done charging the light turns green. You should definetly check that out...no need to waste batteries!

The charging station is really worth it. Just pop the wiimotes on there when you're finished playing and you're all set for next time.

And I really love WarioWare, but I love the Game Boy/DS games too. They're so fast-paced.

Can I use the Wiimotes I already have with the charging station? We already have all four so I don't want to have to buy new ones...
Do I need rechargable batteries then? Or does the Wiimote just charge itself?
would one charging station be enough for four Wiimotes?

Edit: Oh! And hi sweetie! :)

This is my problem with the Wii (already) LOL.

Can they just release a game that is a good game?

Think about this for a minute...

WarioWare
Mario Party
Wii Sports
Wii Play
RayMan
etc.

What do all of these games have in common? They are not "GOOD GAMES" they are just good advertisements for the Wiimote. Wii Sports I can understand because it comes with the system almost like a "Demo" of what the system is capable of...

They need to release titles that make the Wiimote enhance the game rather than the game enhance the Wiimote.

We bought the system...we already know that it can do all of these cool things...just implement them into a good game to prove to us there was a reason to do this.

I heard the Tiger Woods game is very good.

Yeah, I heard that too...I'm gonna pick that one up next week probably.

I'd like to get the Madden '07 too...anybody hear how that was?

I want something cool though...like...

Star Wars. I want to be a Jedi running around swinging my lightsaber, deflecting laser blasts and coming face to face with Darth Vader...I want to pilot an X-Wing or cruise in a Pod Racer. There is so much potential for this system! :sohappy:

How about this...why not take the Wiimote technology and add it to ankle attachments and have the full body motion...Martial Arts, UFC!, etc.

It comes with two sets of rechargable batteries and two new back covers for your remotes. Since you've got four remotes, you'll probably want to get two charging stations.
This is the one I've got:

Or you can just use regular rechargable batteries.

I didn't read back again, so I'm not sure if you mentioned this one or not, but DH really enjoyed Zelda. He said he didn't want to get Madden because he prefers to play it on the XBox......of course I know nothing.....I just sit and listen to him talk about all this stuff and pretend like I know what he's talking about :D

This is the exact reason I dont have one yet. If they come out with something more than just "party" type games thats when I will start considering it. I think they are having trouble right now making a game like starwars and adding in the wii mote and having it not feel like it was just slapped into the game. We will see what happens with metroid prime and mario galaxy but they are still a bit off.

I recently got a Wii.

I love it!

In addition to the standard Wii Sports, I also have Mario Party 8 and Super Paper Mario.

I'm a huge fan of the Mario Party games and Mario Party 8 did not let me down. I like the variety of characters you can choose to be as well as the variation of the mini games (the mini games use the Wiimote in various ways).

Super Paper Mario is a lot of fun too! I would be lost without the strategy guide though! There are a lot of little things that need to be done and I would miss them all if it weren't for the guide.

My boyfriend has WarioWare and I love that game as well! We played it last night and I had a wonderful time. It is a high energy game that made me laugh. My arm is a little sore though - it gave me quite a workout!

I don't mind that the games seem to focus on the Wiimote. The Wiimote amazes me...

I cannot wait for more games to come out. Especially Guitar Hero III!

i have to say if you are collage guy and you have a wii the girls will be at your house. this is the best thing about this system. the graphics are not the best but anyone can play. i dont have one yet but every girl i know wants to play one. i personaly know that mario party is a game girls like (my ex loved playing it on game cube and i hated it but she loved playing becouse it was easy). from what i hear the game play is so much better than anything out there. i loved the ds becouse of the interactive game play. here in tallahasse it is hard to find a wii but when i find one i will get it. of course i was rased with nintindo. but i do have a game cube ps2 and xbox. and even then i have more fun playing with friends on game cube. nintindo is all about fun with friends where as the others are fun by yourself. it is nice to see the top system in the war being something that is not as serious. i know this is ing soney off. i have played the ps3 in stores and the motion sensitive remote is to sensitive. every time i use it i mess up. i of course have not even tryed a wii yet. so i dont know if it is the same. but like i said to all the collage guys pay cheaper and have girls at your place with a wii. for everyone else get what has good graphics and games. for those who just want fun get a wii.

Right...and playing with yourself is never as fun as playing with friends :lookaroun

(Sorry, I had to  )

I completely agree with what you said though...all along Nintendo has been this way. Dreamcast was a blast to play because they seemed to focus on "multi-player" games as well...but Sega saw its demise :(

I just hosted a game night and we all had a blast playing Wii Sports. It's just a fun system that, like you said, anybody can pick up and be a pro at.

I can definitely attest to the fact that Zelda is a good game...GREAT game. I'm not big into RPG's but this one had me from the get-go.

Even Resistance isnt that great its an above average shooter. Its not bad but its also not great. Oblivion is probably the best game for the ps3 but you can get it on the 360 for half the price and a huge amount of downloadable stuff. You forgot metroid, that will be a big one for nintendo.

Oh please what games does the PS3 have? Nothing that I'm interested for sure. I have a Wii and 3 games: Zelda, Super Paper Mario, and Sonic and the Secret Rings. Zelda is probably the most fun I've ever had w/ a video game. I'm at the final battle right now actually. Paper Mario is a lot of fun as well, very reminiscent of the old school Mario games. Sonic is a lot of fun as well, although the controls are a little frustrating. Another thing I love about the Wii is the ability to download the old Nintendo games. I'm hooked on the Donkey Kong Country games. I don't know how anyone could choose a PS3 over the Wii....
