An Overdue Update

I'm confused... is the single rider float a ride vehicle or an innertube? It seems like guests would try to get out in the intermediate pools.

Also, is the Main Street attraction akin to the one in place in DL or the one that was there? Something totally new?

I will be taking all of this with several grains of salt...I have to believe that if one of these claims is false than they all are..and I can say with 95 percent confidence that one of these claims is VERY far off. I'm not trying to knock you at all OP, perhaps what your source is not completely truthful. But again without saying too much to compromise others I know, I do believe that one of your "prophecies" is entirely false.

Thanks for the info!!!

I am excited about the TL multi-slide idea!!! I love water parks and water slides!!!

As for the Imagination pavillion, I am excited to hear about the refurb. I would like to see the ImageWorks like it used to be upstairs and a new show. I also would like to see the return of dreamfinder.

I hope all of this comes true!!!

Typhoon Lagoon CMs, you should be getting the details on the new expansion adjacent to Crush where the "boneyard" is located and where the fairly new basketball court is located. The last I heard, this will become official in late August / early September. Construction should begin in November with the major work being done in the scheduled two month refurbishment.

The ride concept is one in which guests will grab a single rider float, and ride a conveyor to the top of the attraction. From there, guests will be dropped into the start pool where they will either paddle (hands and feet only) to the slide of their choice (three slide options), or they will be bounced into a slide by the continuing flow of riders behind them. Once riders go down the slide, they will be dumped into a secondary pool in which they have two slide options that they can either paddle to or be bumed into. Finally, guests will arrive at one of three final pools in which they may once again choose, or be bumped into, one of two slides. The final slide segments (of which there are three) feature themed, special componenets. One is a modified funnel drop, one is a ride through a themed structure by way of water-jets, and the other is half-pipe in which water-jets push riders up the sides of the half-pipe walls.

That sounds great! It promises for so much rerideability. This is defineately a good investment for Disney, and it sounds like it will be themed nicely.

The pop-up ghosts are now gone in the Haunted Mansion attic scene. Unfortunately, the new ghosts were deemed too frightening because they "lunged" towards the vehicles. Although the plan had been to have their heads turned to a more comical face during the day, and only after dark have them turned to a more frightening face, the decision was made and that is that. You will be able to see these props in the graveyard scene, although they will be stationary and I am unaware of their determined location within that scene at this time.

That's a shame!!!!!! Too scary????? I don't think so. Are you sure there is nothing we can do to get them to have the ghosts lunge at guests like they were supposed to. The mansion has plenty of comical areas so a little scary effect shouldn't be a problem.

Much work is being done right now on the incoming attraction at Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. The cinematic attraction is roughly two years away, but hopes are high that we can have it completed six months earlier.

Hmmm ... I wonder what it will be.

The Imagination! Pavillion at Epcot is going to receive a major overhaul. Although the plans are absolutely not public at this time, I can confirm to you that the new layout will have the dark ride and theater spill guests into the downstairs "ImageWorks" section while the upstairs "ImageWorks" location will be totally transformed (the pyramids are staying). Both the dark ride and theater will have entrances accessible from the outside of the building, as well as the downstairs "ImageWorks" area.

I cannot comment further on the Imagination! changes, but I will release more information as it becomes less tightly controlled. Until that point, take your salt and let this one little spark of information tide you over...

YES YES YES!!!!!!! My dreams have come true. I hope this new Figment ride is as good or close to the greatness the original had. I wouldn't mind Figment being the star of the new 3-D show either. Could Dreamfinder really be returning???? I sure hope he does. Figment wasn't the same without him - seemed like a spoiled brat in the Channing version of the ride (he didn't have that loveability factor).

Maybe it's your sources that are not completely truthful or knowledgeable?

I absolutely love the Haunted Mansion and I'm so excited about this refurb, are you sure there isn't more you can tell us about what we can expect after the refurb? Puhleeeeaaase!!! Does it look like everything is progressing on schedule and will it indeed be open by it's projected opening date? Thanks for the updates by the way, whether you are legit or not you still have brought tons of excitement back to these boards.

So the pop up ghosts will be the same in the attic and stationary in the graveyard?(but with the face changing effects). I was a bit confused by that point.

This sounds great. I have always preferred TL to BB due to the theme, but TL just didn't have the better water rides. With Crush n Gusher and the mentioned ride above, that's changing. :D

since when does Disney ask guests what they want in an attraction? They come up with their own ideas.

They do come up with their own ideas, but they do ask guests if the ideas sound good, sometimes. Many years ago, I was in the Norway Pavillion one night when someone asked me if I was interested in sitting in on a focus team for the upcoming Test Track Pavillion. The took me to a room with many other people and showed us a few different ideas about the Post Show for Test Track and gathered responses from us. It was interesting and some of the ideas were incorporated into the Post Show, while other were not. I like to think the bad ideas were thrown out because that Focus Group didn't like them. They even gave us each $40 Disney dollars for our time. They may not accept all of guests ideas, but they are interested in them.

the new water sounds helli-cool, cant wait to get on it in 2 years :)... but i would edit your post... being bumed by other riders just doesnt float cmatt's boat (as much so as a super atomic wedgie summit plummit gives you ;))

The Typhoon Lagoon expansion sounds extremely fun!! I am also sad that they are not adding the new pop-up heads to the mansion. They sounded really neat...

Thanks for the update again!

I'm not sure if you can answer this, but is there going to be any difference between the daytime and nighttime for HM now? I was really excited by this idea!!

I wonder if the voice of Figment will be recast again to someone closer to the original, or whether the voice of the current Figment will be used again.

I will miss Honey I shrunk the audience, I still do love this attraction, I know some of the technology is out dated now but I enjoy the story.

Bring on the new Journey into Imagination attraction though! :animwink:
