Treasure Planet would make a fantastic musical. I know it has one song, but that is more of an overall theme for the whole movie, and I love it. Sci-fi properties that aren't Marvel of Star Wars get much love in the Disney parks. Not sure about the location, but the seating would be like an arena or horseshoe-shaped, so that large spacecraft and the hoverboard scenes could be included.

Actually it has two. And yeah, I’d love getting one, especially if it meant finally getting Captain Amelia as a meetable Character. And even some merch of her.

Home on the Range the MOOsicle

That gives me a good idea i’d like to see as a future prompt; salvaging a terrible Disney movie as a good theme park attraction.

More on my GOTG thing, the scenes which explicitly should NOT have musical numbers are Meredith dying and anything with Ronan the Accuser doing his evil deeds. I think some audience participation might work during the climax, too.

I like it! That will be tomorrow!

Also, I really am feeling the jukebox musical veraion GotG. I could see it built as an expansion of the Mission Breakout building at California Adventure. Frame it as the Tivan Collection staging a recreation of of the Gaurdians greatest exploits. Make it the more casual, fun show to complement the Hyperion theater as the more grand, broadway style show. Sorta like Mermaid to BatB in Hollywood Studios (except both shows bigger and not outdated of course).

I could also see Up work really well as a musical to replace Finding Nemo in Animal Kingdom. Though with the bird show being Up themed that's not super likely now

I had a few other ideas for future prompts, too, like an intense horror attraction ala Halloween Horror Nights, ideas for a revival of an Extinct Attraction, a Hypercoaster/Giga Coaster, etc.

I do agree that GOTG musical would work in an expanded Tivan Collection building, able to have two attractions at once in there. Maybe an excuse to add a quick service place in there too. I wonder how we could locate the theater far enough away from the tower to prevent the screams of riders from interrupting the show?

4 Day Streak

Previous Day's Pitch

Our goal was to create a musical stage play for a Disney park, cruise line, or broadwat based on a movie that was not a musical. Many great ideas with Treasure Planet the musical, Guardians of the Galaxy as a jukebox musical, and Wall-e as a show full of puppetry and ballet being some of thw highlights!

Today's Project

Our goal today is to take a Disney movie that is generally not considered to be good and create a great attraction based on it! Home of the Range, Lone Ranger, Chicken Little, etc. Our job is to find the diamond in the rough here that will lead to great ride!

I can’t elaborate right now because I’m not at my computer, but I’ve always adored Bolt and thought a ride in Hollywood Studios (maybe in spider-man style) following more along the lines of the tv show in the film where Bolt battles bad guys and you can experience different super powers like the super bark.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms: Mother Ginger’s Counterattack!

This is an interactive EMV ride that serves as a sequel to the film. Well, in light of the events of the previous film, everyone stopped caring about Mother Ginger’s shady deeds when Sugar Plum Fairy’s plan of perfect order went into motion, but now with her out of the way, the other two realms are perfectly vulnerable! Riders begin in the mansion, where we shrink via Forced perspective to enter the mystical clock tower which the Four, now only Three, realms are located.

The Nutcracker instructs riders to use their magical wands to destroy Mother Ginger’s maniacal mechanical monstrosities, and gives a safety spiel as riders enter their vehicles. Blast down the mechanical monsters from the film and more! Riders make their way into the palace, where Mother Ginger has already made things into One Realm, and the Mouse Prince has been caged up. Free him and the last battle ensues, to finally restore the Four Realms back to normal.

In the end, all four rulers are back in their positions, albeit with walls guarding each realm to prevent any militarization attempts or whatnot, along with a democratic system of an overall ruler of the four realms, so that Mother Ginger and the Sugar Plum Fairy can begrudgingly tolerate one another’s presence politically. Currently, it’s the Mouse Prince.

I consider Brother Bear to be one of the greatest Disney films ever made, but because most people seem to think it is bad - cause who doesn't want to watch a compelling, moving drama about looking through another's eyes, family, guilt, redemption and rebirth, when DreamWorks has Shark Tale out - I've decided to include it!

I'd imagine a Brother Bear river rapids attraction similar to Grizzly River Run (or even replace it), following a vague rendition of the movie's story, but with an emphasis on the nature, environment, and a salmon run with plenty of bears doing funny gags, and a brilliant segment within a cave system where the Lights Touch the Earth play out through cave paintings in fluid animation.

By the way, I have an idea for a prompt that involves the Matterhorn and the surrounding area (IASW, Subs, Autopia) - create a new land with the Matterhorn as the centrepiece to a story. The mountain can undergo a redesign/re-theming to fit new ideas.

I love Emperor’s New Groove. And there was even a water ride to the “secret lab.”
Seems pretty simple!

Yzma... put your hands in the air!!

I have previously drafted a the Emperor’s New Groove Ride for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and it too was a water ride! Great minds think alike.

I noticed that a lot of people here are more interested in doing attractions based on films that are underrated or obscure rather than legitimately bad.

Located in Tomorrowland, Meet the Robinsons: Keep Moving Forward is an exciting dark ride through time. Guests enter a queue themed to Lewis' new house, where pictures and home videos retell the story of the film and show how Lewis is adjusting to life with his adoptive parents. At the end of the queue is the garage, where an animatronic Lewis greets visitors. He tells them that he's just finished building the world's first time machines, and invites them to come on board after telling them how to be safe on the ride. These time machines are rocket shaped and are separated into two rows, each of which seats two people. At the front of each time machine is a screen which Lewis uses to communicate with the riders.

After guests board their time machine (each of which is named after a different character from the film), they take off. The time machines are lifted into the air via a rail (think Peter Pan's Flight) and zoom down a swirling blue tunnel, building up enough energy to go back in time. They find themselves in the age of dinosaurs, where digital effects and animatronics bring pterodactyls, velociraptors, and triceratops to life. This peaceful trip into the past is interrupted by a massive T-Rex, who roars at guests, blasting hot air in their faces.

Lewis tries to calm the T-Rex down, but to no avail. It swings at the time machines, causing them to rock from side to side, and opens its mouth to consume them. The time machines take off once again, narrowly avoiding the dinosaur, and head forward in time. Guests find themselves watching the construction of the Egyptian pyramids, and head around and inside them. The time machines nearly collide with one of the pyramids, but are able to pull up just in time to avoid certain death.

They head forward in time again, with a nervous Lewis saying he thinks it's time they head back. Unfortunately, the time machines don't quite make it to the present day, and instead end up in the middle of a naval battle between two pirate ships. They avoid cannonfire for a while, but are eventually hit, and start plummeting towards the water. The time machines are able to muster up just enough energy to travel through time once more, but because of the damage they've taken, end up in an alternate timeline.

In this world, Doris was never defeated, and humanity is still enslaved. The time machines fly through this dystopia, dodging attacks from Doris' many clones. They eventually reach this timeline's version of Lewis' garage, where he's able to repair the time machines. Suddenly, the garage is ripped apart by a massive Doris clone, who attempts to smash the time machines. They take off just in time, tearing through the massive robot and returning to main timeline, although they end up in the future rather than the present day.

The time machines take a scenic journey through this utopian future, traveling through towering skyscrapers and flying past the exciting attractions of Todayland, before finally returning to the present. Lewis thanks the guests for their help and admits that the time machines still have a few kinks he needs to work out, but vows to keep moving forward, before visitors exit the time machines.

How about one based on a DCOM? Minutemen: Time Flyers would be an attraction done using “hang-glider” type vehicles to convey the events of the plot. Riders would swoop down to make corrections in the Timeline with the Minutemen. The circumstances on the ride would have to be more dire than in the movie. Remember Stephanie? Now she’s at risk of DYING unless the Minutemen and you save her.

For a moment, I read that as Chuggington.

If DisneyQuest survived, I could see an attraction based on G-Force fitting in. Would have players roll in little hamster balls to spy around the place. Players would have to collect intel and report it to officers and then catch the Mole.
