I do get the sense a bit as well. Back in planning, the folks at Disney probably thought about the railing, and then thought, "Is there something we can put here to make the fans of Epcot happy?" I think this kind of thinking was especially true with the Great Wall of Epcot at the entrance. I absolutely despise what that thing has done to the entrance of Epcot, even though the old logos are a nice touch. I understand the wall's purpose, but I abhor its implementation. :fork:

That being said, I think there has been a shift in thinking on Epcot. Its a bit early still, but I think as time goes on, subtle reminders of EPCOT's past will become more than just subtle reminders. Hopefully the themes and messages of that era return as well. :)

It's nice, but honestly, they should be doing this ACROSS THE BOARD, not just in aesthetics.:wave:

I actually hope that it's not a fan shout-out, because when it comes to design they shouldn't be thinking, 'what can we do to throw our fans a bone?,' it should be 'what is EPCOT and futuristic, and what do we already have in our design arsenal that we can apply that still looks good and doesn't become dated, or is worth updating?'

It just so happens that the fans want THAT...:lookaroun:lol:

I agree, though...

Yeah, the fans shouldn't even be a consideration here. They should be doing what is best for the park. Now, taking nostalgia completely out of the equation, it just so happens that I think things like the original logos look best, because they help to really define a unique identity for the park. If there was something better that came out, I would fully support it, but so far nothing even close.

I agree. The only ones that have close it it have been the Project Tomorrow ones.

Not crazy about those Project Tomorrow ((Parentheses)).

...and the head with roots in it is creepy and makes me think of a medical diagram of a Stroke.

Ummmm, no. That railing is what they used to do. They got away from such details and were riding the wave of past Imagineering magic. And now they are finally returning to what makes a great Disney park great. These details are huge news! And it's a trend not a fad.

Your observation is way off with all due respect.
Perhaps. If I have to be wrong about something in life, I hope it is the spiritual purpose of railings in a theme park.

DVC members get a discount on the wine tastings?
Yes. You can prepurchase tickets into the wine tastings for $5. I believe you can do this by calling DVC.

That Food n Wine Logo/Diplay lacks class.
I'm not sure if you are trying to be funny or not, but I'll admit this year's design is too similar to last year's for my taste.
