DAY 3 - JANUARY 21ST
We arrived at Epcot and rode Spaceship Earth and then took another trip to the farm on LWTL and if I know my mom we rode Nemo and checked on her dolphins again.
As delicious as it was, my burger had worn off and I was getting hungry again. We decided that since the Figment Popcorn Bucket fiasco was over that it was safe to explore the Pop Eats booth.
Tomato Soup with Bacon, Apple, and Brie Grilled Cheese and Pulp Art Hazy IPA
I had such high hopes for this grilled cheese and to be honest it was kinda meh. Brie is such a creamy and great melting cheese but there was not enough on this sandwich and it was on the dry and dull side. I only dipped in the tomato soup which was decent but I am not a huge tomato soup fan to begin with. I also don't think they were supposed to give me the full can of beer but I am one to argue when someone hands me booze.
I was in the mood for something sweet so we headed to the Deco Delights booth.
Decadent Valrhona Chocolate with dark chocolate mousse, chocolate brownie, and cassis mousse. This was pretty to look at and was yummy as well. It was chocolatey but not overly rich. It also paired well with the beer flight that I got.
The strawberry blonde ale didn't have too much strawberry flavor but it was on nitro so it was smooth and creamy. The vanilla porter was my favorite of the flight just ending out the milk stout. Thankfully, it was on the cooler side to enjoy heavier beers like those.
We were walking past Frozen and the wait time was posted at 60 minutes but the line was completely inside the building so we did not believe it because other times that the wait was posted at 60 minutes the line stretched into China. We rolled the dice and got in line and we only waited about 30 minutes tops.
We took a spin around the Japan store but didn't make any purchases. The grazing continued and I went against my norms and got something from the Japan booth.
Chicken Kushiage: Breaded and fried chicken with yum yum sauce and vegetables and Fuyu Winter Ale.
I skipped the veggies but the chicken was nice and crispy and the yum yum sauce was a little spicy and went well with the chicken. I really enjoyed the winter ale. It had some nice warm spices and was not what I was expecting from a Japanese beer. I am used to drinking these kinds of beer while bundled up in multiple layers so it was a bit of a mind trip to drink one while wearing short sleeves.
The last booth we hit for the night was for another sweet treat at Deconstructed Dish.
Deconstructed Key Lime Pie: Flexible Key lime curd, “Key lime” mousse, graham cracker cake, and meringues. I loved the presentation on this and it was my favorite dessert at the festival. It helps that key lime pie is probably my favorite pie but this was a very good representation of it.
We backtracked a bit to catch the last showtime for the Broadway concert that night featuring Adam and Arielle Jacobs who are both from Aladdin. Adam was the original Aladdin on Broadway and Arielle originated the role of Jasmine in the Australian version. We also learned that they are brother and sister, not married, and they have never played Aladdin and Jasmine together because that would just be weird.
After the show, we lucked out and had a short wait for a bus back to the room for our last night of sleep in Disney for the trip.
