It's not a regular show. It's an in-depth look at the ones making the Final Five. We won't vote on anything Monday.

Ok, Big Band was good tonight. Shame John couldn't be here to sing in it. So here's my picks for what I wish it would be:

Top 2: Latoya and Diana

Bottom 2: Jasmine and Fantasia

If these two aren't the final two, I'll be HUGELY surprised. Well, I know, nothing should surprise me anymore with that show, but I think they deserve it the most.

My thoughts exactly. I think LaToya should, repeat SHOULD, win in a walk. Fantasia'a voice is like 'finger nails on a chalkboard' to me.

I finally figured out who Fantasia reminds me of--a slimmed down Nell Carter. She's got Nell's eyes and voice.

THE SCOOP:

With so many great Big Band tunes available to choose from, the selections chosen were not all that exciting. The band rocked though!

Latoya and Fantasia are true talents are have already "won" from their exposure here.

George actually sounded good to me the last two weeks and I am NOT a fan. The annoying mugging and bouncing around makes him look very immature.

Jasmine had alot of nerve showing up in jeans for Big Band night. Her consultant needs to be fired. Also, her young voice has been pushed to its limits. I found myself clearing my throat for her during her songs last night.

Diana. While I respect the opinion of others here, each performance of hers makes me wonder how she ever made it into this competition. She's just not for me. Her fashion consultant should be exiled to the same island as Jasmine's. Did she forget to put a dress on over that slip she wore last night? Made her look awful....

What will happen: Diana and George will get John Stevens votes and Jasmine will fall short. Aloha!

OMG Yes! I even told my kids "I can't believe she's wearing jeans!" They didn't get it, lol, but I was surprised by that. Her voice can't compete, you are right.

My exact words, but to my wife. Everyone else was dressed very nicely (Diana needs to work on those abs if she's gonna wear a dress like that) and then Jasmine comes out in her jeans--not a good move.

Christy--go out on a warm summer night, find a cat in heat, close your eyes, and you'll swear that it's Fantasia giving you a personal concert. To me, she's that bad. I can't hardly get through 3 minutes of her music, let alone to think about a released single or a CD. :hurl:

I'm actually a Jasmine supporter, and am sad to see so many disapproved of her last night.

I think Huff and "Fantazzzia" are far worse. There's something 'in' their voices I dont care for.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was upset about those jeans. The clothes from that era are great...Diana's dress reminded me of many I had seen in movies. It would have been great if she had rolled her hair. I have to agree about her abs though; maybe a "foundation" would have helped.

i think the judges were right in saying that Diana's voice fits with Big Band. i didn't think it would, but she sounded better last night than she has this whole competition.
however, i totally disagree with what they said to LaToya (which was that Big Band is the type of music she should sing) i think she sounds worse and worse every week. she has talent, there's no doubt about that, but i would be able to handle her better if the didn't yell the whole song. not to mention, pretty much all her songs sound the same. she bores me now.
George was pretty good last night. far from his best, though...as much as i hate to say it, somewhere along the way of the finals he lost his magic. hopefully he can get it back before it's too late.
there's nothing i can say for Jasmine that hasn't already been said...i must say, though...what was she thinking wearing jeans? the least she could have done was wear a blue jean skirt.
Fantasia was probably second best last night (next to Diana) imo. i couldn't stand her at the first of the competition, but since the early departure of Jennifer, Fantasia's my #1 female pick for Idol. her voice isn't for everybody, but it's growing on me with every performance.
i do wish Jennifer was still around, though

I can't believe George went home. I thought he'd stay for longer since he was the only guy. This show is full of surprises.

Disco should be fun next week. It's going to be War of the Divas.

wow...that was depressing. right bottom two, wrong one voted out. i can't believe Jasmine stayed over George. though, i had a feeling a girl would win this year; these reality tv shows seem to have a strange pattern of boy/girl/boy/girl winners. i'm not quite saying it's all set up, i'm just saying it's kind of strange.

*sigh* oh well...now i can focus my votes on Fantasia.
