 I am in absolute shock as to who the bottom three are.

This is amazing... and I am sure everybody involved is as amazed as everybody else right now...

I can't believe who the bottom 3 was. I'm happy with the top 4 though.

I'm VERY surprised Jennifer left. She has gotten so much better.
She probably has a big future in front of her.

I was so happy when he told George he was in the wrong group. I don't really like anyone in the bottom 3.

The competition is getting tough!

I'm speechless.... Jennifer was the best out of all of them. I hate John even more now, he deserved to go the most out of all of them. And what do ya know, Jennifer gets it. I'm never watching American Idol again..

ok. I hope you guys are playing a very cruel joke on me. are you telling me that jennifer, the best singer from the past two weeks, was voted off tonight? Because if you are, I am going to cry.

*sigh*

as you may be able to tell, I didn't get to watch tonights episode because my stupid DVR lost the signal. thus, I had to find out my news from you guys.

so who was in the bottom three?

Bottom three were Fantasia, LaToya, and Jennifer. Fantasia was next to last.

This is now nothing but a popularity contest, talent be damned. I don't know if I'll be watching again.

um, I am kinda thinking the same thing. the three top girls, by far, were in teh bottom three. insane.

I definatly don't care who wins now, I guess Latoya if I had to choose. and perhaps I will get excited again for the show later in the competition , but for now, I am so not excited anymore.

ps-what did the judges say tonight? about the bottom 3, and jennifer?

CURSES!!

Conspiracy, I say!

My dad was sooooooooo miffed! He said "If John had any integrity at all, he'd walk away right now." I agree... he knows he sucks, his face showed it, he was in absolute shock! He may be a nice guy, but this has gone too far.

This has definately been one of the saddest nights in a LONG time for me, I actually cried. :(

I agree, John Stevens KNOWS he sucks. I wish contestants could give up their spot to one who is leaving/left, because she did not need to go. *sigh*

The judges were obviously suprised but none of them were completely outraged. If memory serves - Randy said "remember America - it's not a popularity contest, it's a singing contest and we need to be proud of who wins." Paula said - "maybe it is a popularity contest" and I can't remember what else. Simon said - "tongue on floor" and he didn't want to take anything away from Diana and Jasmine who were great last night. Paula added George to that list.

That was crazy tonight. What if a bad singer won? Would the show survive?

What would happen if the show's format was changed to voting someone OFF ala Survivor? I'll bet that there will be voting changes for next season where the judges will have some say in the weekly outcomes.

I totally agree that the three ladies that were in the bottom group did not belong there. But I remember an interview with Brian Dunkleman done on Tech TV and he gave an inside scoop that the producers (i.e. Simon Cowell) reserve the right to pick who they want to win if they didn't agree with who America had voted for. If this were true, why haven't they stepped up and have John Stephens be voted off? Just my two cents worth.

I don't think that would happen because you have just lost the premise of the show--America deciding who wins the competition. But, considering how things are going, it looks like John Stevens has a shot at being in the Final two. How sad is that?

we JUST had this conversation on out inbound trip to work. they were talking about this on don and roma today (radio people in chcago). jason suggested that there be only ONE phone call per household, I thought the survivor idea would be better. that way, those who would vote jon in, would then probably hve to dispurse their votes among all of the other perfomers. and i think it would no longer be a popularity contest. and, the votes that are spread out between the top singers would then be directed at only the worst of singers, ie, jon.

and disney falcon, I think the show will survive for another season if it does become a popularity contest, but not much longer. it will definatly loose the older audiences, such as those who post to this board, and those who are no longer in the pre-pubesent stage of voting for the cute ones.

I do think that Jennifer will be poping up sometime in the future with a record contract. If the hairdresser from last season can get one, then Jennifer will have no problem.
