AMC Theater finally getting a replacement at Downtown Disney

There is nothing about any of this concept art that says "Disney". If you saw these images randomly, out of context, would you know this is part of a Disney-themed resort? No, you wouldn't.

What is going on over there? Am I just old and out of touch? Is this just too cool for me to understand? All I see if "mall". The last thing I want to do on a family vacation is hang out in a mall with inflated prices and with less than what is available at the mall by my house.
It’s a lack of effort overall.

Is Earl of Sandwich really that great? I kind of can't believe some people are celebrating the news of the pop up location.
I must be missing something.

You aren't. It's a sandwich shop, selling reasonably good sandwiches. And decent soup and bags of chips. Plus they have a Coke machine.

The Earl of Sandwich thing baffles me. It's a nice sandwich. That's all.

Earl of Sandwich is just expensive Subway. Pretty much every sandwich shop is better and cheaper.
I think this hints at another reason it’s so popular in DTD, Earls has 9 locations in CA, Subway has 2300.

You can get Subway everywhere, if you want Earls most peoples only choice is when they’re at DTD.

Earls may be just “good” but its still vastly better than Subway in my opinion, not quite Capriotti’s good though.

More like it’s good in comparison to theme park food. If you’re tired of theme park burgers, hot dogs, and pizza it’s one of the few options on property that’s fast.

I think this explains its popularity with the general public (I completely relate to getting burnt out on overpriced theme park food), but not the devotion some Disney nerds have toward it.

I ate a sandwich at the WDW Earl of Sandwich back in 2012. It was good. I moved on with my life.

Okay - I missed this when I first saw the concept art - "Beignets Expressed"???

Now granted, I do go to the Jazz Kitchen Express... expressly for their beignets, but I hadn't noticed that rebranding before.

There is only one Alien Pizza Planet but that doesn't make it good pizza.

True, bad food is still bad food even if it’s only a few locations. That doesn’t change the fact that good food (or even average food) can benefit from having few locations.

Before we had Chick Fil As in Nevada I used to alway make a point to get it when I went to CA, now that I can get it whenever I want I never go out of my way to get it in CA anymore. They benefited from it being a “rare treat” before, I think Earls gets the same benefit.
