Am I The Only One....This Site Is Becoming Way To Negative

I still come to WDW Magic for News, but I can't stand the forums. You could argue that "everyone has their own unique opinion", but most of these people only want to tear everything apart. Pixar Place: Awful! Star Wars Land: Stupid! Disney Springs? Sell-out mall! The vast majority of the posters only want to gripe. I guess that everything isn't for everyone, but the amount of venom present in the forums is disgusting. My affection for this site is tempered by the presence of ugly forum posters who don't even know how to be constructive in their criticism.

LOL. WDWMAGIC is the best Disney forum and the best source for Disney related news. You just have to look past the posts that are way too negative and focus on the exceptionally good posts, like mine.

And really, you should start posting more -- you have been a member here over thirteen years with only *thirty* posts! Just join in the discussions -- you can totally make a difference! I can't do it all by myself, lol. Also, I have noticed a substantial increase in the amount of positive posts on the forum but there is always room for more!

Truly fascinating. You dearly love Disney and are deeply offended by the complaints about Disney in these forums, yet you are somehow compelled to read them.

And not only read them, but become so familiar with them that you are able to distinguish the "vast majority of posters who only want to gripe" and the "ugly forum posters" from those posters who "know how to be constructive in their criticism."

How is that possible?

(Hint: the answer is in this scientific study.)

I'm new here, so I can't comment on the past. However, I smiled when I saw the topic of the thread. Negativity, seems to be in direct parallel with people's dissatisfaction of the parks at both Disney World, and Disneyland. My park attendance only goes back to 1997. My internet posting began in 2005. Things are not the same. Disney is putting out a different product than they used to. People notice, and they speak out. Nothing wrong with that. Some Disney websites claim they are friendlier than others. I post on a few, and this negative comment has appeared on all of them. I like what I have seen so far on wdwmagic. Great threads, and park information. I am planning a 10 day trip coinciding with my September birthday, and I value honest information from people who actually go to the parks. Thats a whole lot better than the commercials on TV that tell you nothing.

I always read the trip reports for inspiring stories of disney fans fun trips. It is what made me first love this site. It's so fun and uplifting.
Give it a try:)

This site has a ton to offer.
And a lot of very informative, very intelligent "Disney World" people.
But you really, really have to learn to ignore the multitude of complainers & crybabies that will rip Disney no matter what they do. And oh boy, there are a lot of these types.
I'm firmly convinced that a majority of the "always negative" crowd are frustrated because they can't go to WDW as much as they'd truly like to (for whatever reason). So they blast it to make themselves feel better.
Kind of pathetic, but that's probably all they've got in life.

And another thing: there is an issue regarding the placement of topics regarding the discussion of company (TWDC) news in the WDW Parks News, Rumors and Current Events thread. I feel that any and all discussions concerning TWDC, Iger, or any DIS executives need to go in the Disney Co News & Discussion Thread, this way we can avoid clogging this thread with off-topic related subjects (that is, topics concerning those outside of WDW).

Not in all cases. Sometimes those topics directly impact the parks, and deserve to be in the parks section.

The few that are borderline can easily be skipped over.

Not only negative, but we don't have a free word on things. I can't even post a thread that even asks who on WDWMagic is Christian. Which I did try but they deleted it. It's so sad...Everyone blocks Jesus out of everything. That's what gets this world into the trouble it is in today. Sorry guys but I got to speak the truth.

Or you could read the terms to which you agreed to when you joined...

Well for one, there's truly no "freedom of speech" thing online and 2...religion would probably fall along the whole "no politics" thing which can spark some pretty heated arguments and religion can do that just as well, especially if the beliefs aren't the same. That's just something you have to respect with forums like these. It has nothing to do with "blocking Jesus out of everything", it has to do with preventing arguments. Talking religion is a touchy subject and these forums aren't the place for it, same as political beliefs. Other than that, you're free to talk about whatever you want as long as it doesn't break the rules or is deemed unnecessary.

By the way, trying to throw out there that this forum is trying to "block Jesus" is almost asking for a confrontation. Best stop while you're ahead.

I'm sorry if I upset you all, but I know that this world is in danger. And I don't want to cause any arguments over religion. That's the last thing I want to happen. That's all I am saying...

And yet, despite my warning and message to you, you continue. You have now violated the terms of service - which I specifically told you to read - twice within a 24 hr period. The TOS also address posts questioning a moderator's decision to edit/delete your post. Three strikes and you're out.

I can already see why that thread got deleted quickly.
