Am I The Only One....This Site Is Becoming Way To Negative

I am ready to take all the arrows coming my way, but am I the only one that thinks this web site is going to negative. I know I will be called a pixie duster or something like that, but I use to find a lot of great information when planning my next trip to Walt Disney World. I am the first to admit that Disney has not put enough money into Walt Disney World over the last ten to fifteen years, but that seems to have turned around. I think there is a lot of great things going on at Walt Disney World at this time. I do agree that much more is going to have to be done at Epcot and other areas, but all is not as bad as many make it out to be.

My problem is that I have to dig though posting after posting that is just telling us the same thing over and over again, Disney bad, Universal good and Disney management only cares about the stock price. The best example of this is going to the thread on Avatar Construction that state this is for posting construction updates only but still it seems like 90 percent of the postings are how bad everything is and they should not have built it in the first place. I think there are still a few people out there saying it never will open. From what I can see from the updates posted it looks like it is going to be a great addition to Animal Kingdom and Walt Disney World.

I again ask, I am the only one that feels this way!
nope, i feel the same way. when i first started visiting here i would say most of the people who posted something negative really loved Disney and were hoping their post would help make a change. now there are just so many bitter people just hating to be haters. you can tell who loves disney and are looking for improvements and who just hate. call me what you want but i really love Disney and instead of worrying about the bad in a park (or stuff) i read and know where the good is and dwell there.

It always baffles me that some posters on here seem to hate on Disney sooo much, yet they are the most frequent visitors. I could never waste so much time expressing such negativity on something I didn't like.
Agreed. I feel as if these forums feel like something that came out of Squidward's brain and all the people want to do is share their hatred towards Disney, particularly in the News & Rumors section. It doesn't surprise me that if these people hate Disney, why do they visit so much?

I agree with you 100%. I think this really goes for the Universal lovers on this site. Way not just go to a site that is all about that resort and share with people that think your way.

Fans of Universal can also be fans of WDW. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

But they are not fans of Disney. Disney does everything wrong and Universal does everything right. I love Disney but have also enjoyed my trips to Universal, but if I was as negative about Disney as they are; I would never visit a called Walt Disney World Magic.

There's plenty on here that are able to separate the two, and appreciate them. Just as there's plenty about who believe TWDC can never do any wrong....

Having an opinion that things are not being done right does not mean that person isn't a fan. Visit some sports forums, and you will see a very similar thing. Die-hard fans of sports teams frequently criticism the decisions of the management. It doesn't mean they aren't a fan. In fact, some who are able to criticize are actually the most passionate of fans. Those who blindly accept everything that is done just due to brand loyalty are perhaps not viewing reality.

The problem I think some of us have is that it is the same posters posting the same things in pretty much every thread that they visit. So it looks like a lot of negativity, but it's coming from a handful of people. And whose reality are you talking about, Steve? We go multiple times a year, and have a great time. We have great interactions all the time with CMs. I think that Main Street hasn't looked this good in 20 years. Are there issues? Sure, but for us, we don't dwell on it.

Do I think everything is perfect at WDW? Of course not. Is it anywhere near as bad as certain people make it out to be? Not by a mile. People say that NFL sucks, but we completely disagree. It is one of the best themed areas there is. Enchanted Tales with Belle is so much more than a simple meet & greet, but in essence, that is what it is. So much better than standing in a line, and getting a few minutes with someone. You get a story, and kids get join in. Heck, even us big kids get to play as well, as my DW and I were the guards, even when we didn't have kids with us. BOG restaurant has a fabulous theme, and the food for us has always been awesome as well. Both lunch and dinner. 7DMT is an excellent coaster for where it is located - Fantasyland. Could it have been longer? Sure, but it wasn't ever trying to be a thrill ride for coaster junkies. It was a coaster for kids, and we think it excels at that. Mermaid - well OK, that one could have been a lot better, but it is themed well. So you see, I can find something that I don't like, but the area, for the most part, is an excellent addition.

Everyone here is complaining that Iger hasn't done enough for the parks since he took over. Not one person here has really looked at the fact that maybe he had to clean up the other parts of TWDC first, because they were in much worse shape, and needed the money right away. Now that he has done a lot with other areas, the parks are getting a lot more attention. Of course, the naysayers will poo-poo the idea, but they really have no idea what the financials really looked like in the other divisions. Neither do I, so it's an opinion. But they spout it as if it's a fact, and they attended the board meetings, and know what really goes on. No, they don't.

People claim that they try to bring reality, but the fact is, that it is their reality, and not someone else's. Just because someone had an issue with a fridge, and wasn't happy about their response, doesn't mean that everyone will get the same treatment. We don't. We reported a scratch on the living room TV in a Treehouse on a recent stay. When I called, I explained that it was OK if they didn't have to replace it until we left, we just didn't want to be charged for damaging the TV. A manager was over in less than 30 minutes with a brand new TV still in the box. It's all in the attitude you have.

Then you could easily solve your problem with the ignore button, right?
Why would I want to ignore some of the most entertaining posts there are?? I don't put anyone on ignore. :D

EDIT: And I never said that some people don't have issues while on vacation there. Obviously, nothing is perfect, just like WDW was never perfect either. Even when I started visiting back in 1978 there were issues. We just didn't have the internet to spread it around.
