Alligator in rivers of America?

Basically people were pouring their drinks either into it's mouth, if it was open, from above. They would also pour it into the water and then dropping an ice cube. The gator would go after the ice cube thinking food and get a mouth full of spiked lake water as well.

Feeding alligators is worse then that idiot climbing up the pyramid in Epcot.

Unless whoever takes the alligator away has it put down - if it's returned to the wild, then there's an alligator out there that now equates humans with food. And will be very aggressive if they don't get it whether you have any for them or not.

As is always said - any natural body of water in Florida is going to have alligators in it.

There is a certain size they have to get to before they are moved, I believe it is around 5ft.
The un-natural ones have their fare share as well.;)

I've seen small ones on the Disney Golf Courses.
On a course in Orlando I was asked by an English woman if everyone has screens around their pools to keep the bugs out. I said "yes but also the alligators". She about fell over, she was in shock. :hilarious:

Yup. It takes a few years for them to get that big too. The one in front of my place was finally removed but it never bothered anyone.

From a 'Keys to the Kingdom' tour a few years ago, the guide said that Disney only relocates gators if they are 6ft long or longer and smaller ones are moved only if they are agressive.

But there are lots of gators in the MK one of the fun things to do on the Mark Twain is to look for them in the river you will generally see at least one on any given trip.

Every time I'm at the parks and see people playing with the wildlife (and in some cases literally picking them up) I want to throw my head through the nearest wall. Its people like that which caused one of those big white egrets to swoop over, stalk, and eventually grab a corn dog nugget right out of my cup a few weeks ago.

Part of the fun of a trip to the swamps is to see how the natural fear of man doesn't exist with the wildlife. Years ago when they had bird food for sale at TSI, virtually everything would eat right out of your hands, including ravens that would land in your hand and eat out of it. And a couple of years ago while I was walking in CSR, a squirrel came up to me, and then jumped on my leg, jumped off, then jumped on another guys leg, then came back and jumped on mine again.

Small animals it's cute to see (as long as they aren't stealing anything from you - I've seen plenty of birds steal from plates, carriages, etc).

In August we saw a estimated 5 footer between the bridge and where Splash Mtn turns around after the drop. Not a one person even saw it as I stood there watching it. I pointed it out to another Dad with a 5 or 6 yo son.

A few years back we spotted a roughly 6 footer, at SSR between waters edge and behind some lower bushes. Funny thing was... right on the others side of the bushes was a walkway that many people walked by without even knowing. Until they crossed the bridge (where we were viewing it) and pointed it out to them. Some were scared and never thought the gators would be there and others couldnt beleive they walked bey it, and still others didn't really care either way(must have been Fla residents).

We have seen gators all over the property over the years(from resort lakes, golf courses, canals and of course the parks) AK was good for them but they were smaller ones. Now with the construction, I am sure they stay away.
