Nintendo always seems to under produce popular systems. They march to their own drummer.

The NES remake stands out here for how much they under-produced. Thankfully they went and added all the games from that one (and the SNES) to Switch Online.

Gosh, I miss my drinking buddies at Karl Strauss Citywalk. It was a weekly thing for a summer.

Finally made it over to Citywalk today!

Really quick and easy process parking and getting in (temperature taking fast and simple). Plenty of hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere. Everyone social distancing and wearing masks except when eating/drinking (or one or two when talking on their phones lol). There's plenty of space to stay apart from others so avoiding those who had temporarily removed their masks was easy to do.

Beautiful sunny day to walk, and people were there eating and shopping and just enjoying the afternoon out with their families.

I wandered into a few stores (the Universal store itself was probably the busiest) and headed over to the barred gates of the parks to look inside longingly. It was bittersweet to be so close to a theme park and yet so far.

If they keep the park closed another week or two and keep the parking free, I'd probably go back and get another Voodoo Doughnut (had some chocolatey goodness there today!) and stretch my legs in a nice safe place in the fresh air.

More of Citywalk was open today when I went and they even have started putting social distancing markers by security! Hopefully Newsom says those Theme Park guidelines sooner than later after the 4th, maybe @Darkbeer1 has more info on that hopefully!

No theme or amusement park can open in California until official state guidelines are released, along with a starting date, if the county also approves.

The industry was informed this morning that the State would not release any official guidelines until July 6th, or later.

So everyone is in limbo....

Yeah it seems like they would have to. They haven't put out a statement yet.

It would seem to go with how Universal and Disney have played this whole pandemic. Disney is the more public face of theme parks, so they've been much more cautious about things and seem to be working with governments in an attempt to look good to the public. Universal announced their closure after Disney but pushed to be the first major park to open both here and in Florida (their plan was to be open by 4th of July weekend somehow).

Their silence since the Disney news is a bit telling, in that I almost assume they'll try and open up as soon as those guidelines are released instead of putting more prep in.
