Love the retro style lettering on this. As long as they repaint the whole thing and adjust it so Magic Mountain isn't twice, it'll be good.

I’m guessing they changed the sign when Hurricane Harbor opened in the early/ mid 90s? Not sure I remember the classic sign. I think I was 10 or so the first time I went to Magic Mountain so it was probably just a couple years or so before they changed the sign.

The smoke plume dominated the northern horizon as seen in a photo, below, taken from near Magic Mountain, which is closed today. The park is protected by the Santa Clara River and the 5 Freeway, two natural fire breaks to the north and east, respectively, though there is not likely much water in the river. Also to the south of the blaze is Santa Clarita, home to many entertainment industry workers hard-hit by the strikes.

It was towards the back where Batman is now. It would travel the back side of the park to Spinakins Corners where that old Terminator Salvation wooden rollercoaster is now.

I feel like a lot changed at Magic Mountain in the early 90s on huh? My first trip with my Dad I think the only big rollercoasters they had were Colossus and Revolution. Not even sure if Viper was there yet. What other coasters would have been there in the early 90s aside from Gold Rusher? Ninja? Flashback? I think that came a little later too.

Psyclone! That’s the one I’m missing. Thought it was mid 90s. Wow so that first trip with my dad they literally only had 4-5 coasters. I’m guessing Magic Flyer was a kiddie coaster?
