It is said Viper might be next too for the same reasons.

Here is where Flashback used to be:

That’s too bad. I’m not a huge coaster/ thrill ride enthusiast but it’s a pretty unique ride no?
I think Superman is one of the last in the world.

Top all time rides at Magic Mountain for me -

Riddlers Revenge (when it was buttery smooth back in the day)
OG Colossus
Goliath

Tastu is great too if you can avoid thinking about what would happen if the restraints failed.

Speaking of restraints failing, I was half way up lift hill on Riddler's Revenge until I realized my seat belt wasn't on. I buckled it really quick before the drop.

Absolutely! When it opened it was the tallest and fastest coaster in the world. It got even better in later years when they turned the cars around so you could see the ground and just how high in the air you were! It certainly will be missed by me. Though I should note that the park will be a lot quieter; Superman was deafening every time it launched!

Not sure why I knew that but haven’t see any other images of rides that look like Superman. I did it once where it pulled you backwards! It went so fast I felt like my brain was still at the loading area while my body was 1,000 feet in the air. Sort of an out of body experience.

The backwards launch sounds so much less scary for me. If I can see the station/ground, I'm far more secure feeling. It is when I shoot up to a blank sky without any reference points where I get freaked out.

I did it both ways. Many more times with the forward launch but I was younger. Not sure which was scarier for me but the backwards launch felt surreal.

Wow. Ummm how on earth was the ride able to start?
The seatbelts aren’t connected to the ride control system. They’re just an extra bit but not really part of what is holding you in place.

Intamin has only built two others. Tower of Terror in Australia was a single track and closed back in 2019. Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi opened one in 2017 that has forward and backward seats and also twists at the top.

That makes me feel better.

Does the seatbelt on Silver Bullet at Knotts do anything? Since I'm tall, I have this worry that the shoulder restraint is still unlocked and the seatbelt is the only thing holding me in.
