seems like a nice petri dish to get corona. no thank you. I'll wait for a vaccine.
Just got back. The park is extremely clean and park managers are roamming the lines enforcing social distancing. Everyone wore masks and tables were instantly cleaned. They made sure everyone's masks where always on except when eating. They had employees wiping down everything that someone touched or ate at. They had us go through temperature checks with cameras in one of the old shops. The lines for food where very long but worth it. The food was very good. The citizens of Calaco where up stairs talking to people below. They played modern country music everywhere. There was a DJ at the Calico stage and a magician at the other stage. All of the employees and managers where in high spirits and happy to see everyone. They where all very talkative. All of the Calico shops where open. Parking was free in the lot next to Ghost Rider. The park looked great and they even had some new planters. Bear-y Tales is newly painted and complete according to a manager. Knotts is a very safe place.

Glad you had fun but it is a still a BIG 'NO' from me until there is a vaccine. I personally don't want to be around that many people or be in the vicinity of vloggers pandemic or no pandemic. Theme parks are not worth the risk right now. I don't feel comortable going to any right now.

I forgot, all of the craft booths where there and going good business. You could get things like fresh honey and hand blown glass objects. Rings, soaps and hand made things where on sale. Basically it was the Boysenberry Festival without rides.

That is your opinion. Personally I felt extremely comfortable this evening. Knotts did a fantastic job. Vloggers where pretty rare. I only saw one at Berry Tales. It was a normal crowd. There where people dressed up too. One guy dressed as the fox from the ride. Others where in Western outfits.

Yes. It is my opinion. Like I said it was. I literally said for me theme parks are not worth it right now and I don't feel comfortable going to one even if you do. So why did you make it seem like I said what applies to me should apply to everyone?

Here are some pictures from the event.

The first is the line to get into the park. It moves very quickly through switch backs. Everyone stays six feet apart. They ask if you had any symptoms in the last two weeks. You then enter the old California t shirt shop were infrared tv cameras look at you as you walk through. It was very quick. The usual metal detectors are after that.

Once admitted, you see Camp Snoopy is shut down. You are only allowed in Ghost Town.

Hand craft shops are setup up in their usual places. Same stuff as usual.

Lisa and I are inside Knott's. Health and Temperature check went smoothly, as did security.

They take your photo to attach to your QR Tasting card, to make sure things remain Kosher. Lots of tables and chairs all around. Looks like they took the ones in the closed areas in the park, and moved them to the active areas.

Lines move fast.

More later.

The lines get slower as more people show up. Have a great time! Try the chilli.

I think if they did this every weekend for the rest of the summer Knotts would have a hit on their hands. I can see something like this being applied to Haunt too. Mazes and food and some live entertainment. A monster version of the Food & Wine Festival.
Just spent a few minutes talking to Jeff Tucker. Haunt preperations are going on, looking at multiple options in how to do it. They need to decide by early August which direction to go with.

That is up to you, just be aware that a vaccine is extraordinarily unlikely, just remember there has NEVER been a successful vaccine for a CoronaVirus.

Now if you are in the vulnerable population, I understand it, but if you are in the majority that even if they get COVID the symptoms will be very mild, taking the very minor risk is better than hiding in fear in our house for the rest of our lives and that is what waiting for vaccine will be.

I think if they reopened with shopping dining and some entertainment, they could resume taking monthly payments on annual passes (as long as dining, etc. Could be used), I know I would be buying extras.
