Funny because Knott's Ghost Town is older. It was an actual ghost town the Knotts family bought and moved there. It was used to entertain guests as they waited to be seated for their chicken dinner. The Calico Mine had the first hidden queue that Walt Disney though was a great idea. Timer Mountain predates Splash Mountain by over ten years.
It all looks so cool. The stonework is excellent.

Spooky season is coming to an end, and it will soon be Merry Farm, any idea when we might get a show schedule? Mainly will Snoopy on Ice be preformed Fri-Sun or just Sat-Sun.

They'll likely release a schedule at least a week or two before Merry Farm begins.

Snoopy on Ice along with Home for the Holidays and the bird cage theater shows should be Fri-Sun since Fridays are scheduled to close at 10 but it could also be possible that the ice show will be regulated to Sat-Sun with Home for the Holidays and the birdcage theater shows being on a Fri-Sun schedule

But on the week of Thanksgiving , Christmas and New Years, all shows should be daily during those periods

I just remembered the special on Season Passes Knotts is running until 10/31. If you upgrade to the Gold pass and add the All Parks option, it includes free parking. That makes it $190 instead of the regular pass with parking for $189. One dollar more gets you into All Cedar Fair and Six Flags parks nationwide with free parking!

I will be headed to Merry Farm for my first, and potentially only, time in December.

What are the must-dos and parts of the event that I should focus on?

The melodramas in the Birdcage theater. They do A Christmas Carol and Gift of the Magi. The Calico Mine stage will have a show. There is Santa Claus in the Red Barn with milk/cookies, hot chocolate and other Christmas treats. Go visit Sad Eyed Joe in jail. See the lights in Camp Snoopy.

Don't forget the "real" snow in Ghost Town.

On that note, Knotts disperses more "snoap" than Disney so expect a "blizzard" instead of the "light" snow that Disney does with their "snowfall" and their snow machines are much lower so you're more likely to be covered in snoap when the moment is done

Heres a vid showing how their snowfall is

I went last night. Most of the decorations are up. The lights in the trees where missing in camp snoopy. It was pretty dark. Maybe they were just not on yet. The calico stage is setup for the same show as last year. Snoopy on ice is in the schedule. The snow boxes are up. All of that starts next week.

Do they have any good Merry Farm-specific food items that carry over each year?

Also, the turkey dinner bites come every year. It’s turkey, dressing, cranberries and gravy in a ball. It’s been a while since I’ve checked out the holiday food or actually even been to Merry Farm so I’m sure there must be other annual foods but I’m not sure.

History of the whimsical Knott's Bear-y Tales designed by Rolly Crump

Designer and artist Rolly Crump found his way to Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California at the invitation of Marion Knott in 1974. This book is her story as well as his. Knott was the first female creative executive of an American theme park, built by her father and mother decades before. Crump was escaping the shadow of his previous employer and looking for an opportunity to spread his wings as a designer. Together these unlikely friends developed and organized a crew of talented artists to build a wild dark ride unlike anything seen (or smelled) before - Knott’s Bear-y Tales! This is the first book to ever tackle the subject, through the interviews and artwork of those who were there.

Just a side-observation. These attempts at "anonymity" always kind of crack me up. I don't know how may times something has happened down near the beach, and news has reported that the victim was taken to a Newport Beach hospital. There's only one hospital in Newport Beach. ;-)

I like the idea of this, but $20 shipping on top of a $40+ book! 😬

Perhaps it's not quite as bad if you're in California.

I wish the website was clear on the actual release date. The only thing it really says is to order by x date to get it in time for Christmas. Is it already out? Coming out in two weeks? Perhaps I'm not looking in the right places, but it seems weirdly unclear on the website, and there isn't any info anywhere else that I can find.

Ah well, I'll be at Knott's just before Christmas. Hopefully they'll have the book there in person.
