Don't get me wrong, it's a decent enough attraction but here is what brings it down for me:

1) The ridiculous amount of time you have to dedicate to waiting in line.
2) Even with Fastpass it still takes at least 30 minutes to do.
3) Waiting in line only to get in another line no matter how short the wait.
4) Having to walk all the way into the Land to get a fastpass only to see they are out.
5) Everyone is in love with it even though it isn't great enough to justify the hype/love that it gets. OMGZ have you ridden that hanglider ride at epcotz it iz teh amazing.
6) It's a clone when to fit in EPCOT, it should be unique, like a worldwide film. I can understand the CA film for the HCoE, but it should have been changed afterwards.
7) Why do we end the attraction in Disneyland at Christmas?
8) The new film better end in EPCOT!!!!

Bottomline, it's the most overhyped attraction at WDW, and I find that annoying.

Not to mention my main gripe: The queue sucks! Bare hallways, exposed wires and such, etc. Terrible.

The ride is terriffic (I originally rode it at DCA and was really impressed), but I agree, it truly is very overhyped. And I wish they'd just change the gosh darn film! I don't want to be flying over California in Florida.:brick:

Isn't it supposed to be a like a Airport?

Yeah... cause after I get done flying to Florida... as soon as I get to WDW I want to imagine being in an airport. :lookaroun :p

All thats missing is the random TSA probing. :lookaroun

Yeah, but that's no excuse for having ugly, bare hallways with nothing to look at.
True...But MS's exit hall is even worse! Who knew space felt prison?:lookaroun:lol:

It seems like alot of stuff Disney does now is all industrial looking that way, bare ugly hallways, piping, wires etc etc, Soarin, Imagination, Space, TestTrack, and now the SSE descent in its current state. Whoever the team is for Epcot projects lacks in inspiration and atmosphere or something, I dont know what it is. I suppose they will want to add overheard duct work into the Maelstrom queue. You can even see it now in the first tunnel in the Mexico ride, what use to be lit cave walls is now a totally lit ugly ceiling above with no theming. You guys know what I mean in that part?

Whereas with Soarin', there's an emotional connection there, provided by a unique combination of sensory experiences: smells, movement, visuals, wind, and especially music.
Each to their own I guess; TT is certainly lacking inside (and until GM got into trouble this was to have been plussed) but I can`t connect emotionally with a simulation movie that has blatant jump cuts all through it. The score however is stunning. Don`t get wrong - I enjoy Soarin' a lot. But like Everest (IMHO) it is a great diversionary attraction, not a classic.

Honestly, with some tweaking I think it could be the modern equivalent of Circle-Vision.

I do like "Destiny" though. A very EPCOT song.

And yes, Test Track is overrated, but it's older, so I hear about it less.

"Destiny" is a nice piece. :) At least they gave M:S a sort of theme song, whereas TT and some of the other newer offerings don't have anything.

And that hallway? Yeah its pretty bare, and those same five poster signs get really annoying really quickly when walking from the orange centrifuges. :dazzle: In my ideal EPCOT, M:S would be an actual journey to Mars instead of a simulation, and that hallway would have window effects like Space Mountain, only instead of stars there would be scenic overviews of the Martian landscape. I think that would jazz up that hallway a bit, and the attraction as a whole. :)

TT has that awful techno mess they keep sticking on WDW official albums.:hurl:

Destiny is a good theme for Future World in general.

For those of you who downloaded the wilderness lodge lobby loop off mousebits, there is a track on there believe it or not that I cant help but think would sound so good in SE or the descent especially. Its called "The Wave" and it gives me chills when I play it and think of SE. Its pretty short but a chunk of it sure does sound perfect for a SE ending. I do that with alot of music I hear, I think wow that would be so good in SE. Oh well its fun.
