I think it's that dang butterfly...

...OH NO! I've given away the secret of how to defeat me!

:drevil:

I think I may have created one in February when I walked past a certain part of Pleasure Island. I don't know what it would have attached itself to though:lookaroun

True, but at least 3 has got "One Little Spark."

2 didn't have anything redeeming. And I think it ripped a piece of my soul out when I rode it.
True. And the new lyrics created for it are quite nice too.:)

I know what it attached itself to...

Oh, and I've done this too...July 2000, As I turned from Innoventions Plaza into FW East. Horizons behind a black refurb wall...:(

Imagination may be a shell of its former self, but at least it tells a comprehensible story, unlike Spaceship Earth.

SSE isn't really meant to tell a "story" in that there's the beginning, middle and end. It traces key milestones in human achievement not follow a character through various scenes and situations; its not meant to follow a plot line.

Yea but it used to go from past, present, and future, and now there is nothing about the future on the ride except that stupid video during the non existant desent

^ Changed for effect. Story doesn't make an attraction, theming does. HM's storyline was dubious even amongst fans (the buried wedding ring, Master Gracey, the pirate captain etc.), and even now with the Hatchet Bride, it's just a loosely-linked number of ghost-related scenes.

Exactly, and it is still the best attraction on Disney's property.

In theory it did, but the barrier between the present and future was always vague. I know what you're saying but I don't consider that a "story." (certainly not like ryno meant when he used JII as the example).

I just think the new version lacks a story and overall message.

Wow, no posts or threads yet about how GM finally went belly-up today. There goes another sponsorship.

Here is an article about how Story does not make an attraction

Here is one about what happen when WDI is so desperate to come up with a story that they tell the same story over and over again.

I beg to differ. It's the story of history and one of innovations that slightly revolves around those that have revolutionized communications. While it's story isn't broken into equal parts, it's still easily discernible.

The ascent/past- The story and it's beginning through rising action,

The Present to the 180 Top- Peak of the rising action to the climax.

180 Top- Descent/Finale-The future and the falling action.

SSE has a story.
Yep.

Yeah an incomplete unfinished one which is now permenant. :fork:

Unless the world ends, the story of SSE can never be complete. The message of the current "ending" is that the future is in our hands, and it's up to us to shape it the way we want....oh, and triangles, lots of them!
