Ah, nice to see this old thread of mine back from the dead.
I bring this thread back from the dead....
Where's Muppet What-Not store going?
cool thanks, do you know if anything has been said about when it will be in?
I'm gonna guess the Muppet Store across from Muppet Vision. Half of it is occupied by random crap, which I think will be replace by the Workshop.

Servo will be here momentarily to kill you....:lookaroun
Just like the rest of MGM....No, half of that shop is filled with random crap.

I see this thread has been revived… Don't mind me while I put in my two cents (cough-vent-cough.) DHS was always billed as the "entertainment"-inspired park. Things like AIE and Epic fit and blend extremely well with the theme. However, that being said, DHS also hosts two of the most "grown up" attractions- Tower and Coaster. But go beyond Sunset Blvd. and you're looking at an old park with little to offer the modern theme park patron.
The Great Movie Ride was dated ten years ago-- I would say the vast majority of children who go on this ride have never seen the movies being portrayed. That's not to say some of the classics should go (i.e.: Casablanca and Wizard of Oz) but the technology could use tweaking and the entire soundstage could do with a little rehab.
I also think its time to put the Backlot Tour out to pasture. The size has been halved thanks to LMA and the tour consists of a few props from a few movies no one cares about and, of course, Catastrophe Canyon. And as far as the "highlight" of the attraction goes, is pretty anticlimactic. And "Backstage" isn't so special anymore, considering the peak you get of the Animation Building-- which, as we all know, isn't even used for feature animation anymore.
Honestly, the entire Backlot area of DHS needs some TLC. Streets of America should go-- the area is empty, serves no purpose, and isn't even utilized that often for character greetings. I say, turn this area into a bigger Pixar Place. Expand the Pixar "studio" theme and turn this entire area into the sleek, cool-looking Pixar Studio. Kids can meet their favorite Pixar characters, the Imagineers can get to work on that Monster's Inc. coaster, and you can turn that "Honey I Shrunk" playground into a Bugs Life, similar to what they have out in DCA. And expanding on the DCA-inspired areas, Backlot Tour could become Radiator Springs, and this would tie-in with LMA next door.
Muppets needs an overhaul. Don't change the actual movie-- it's a classic and still entertaining. But update the 3D technology. Give this area something, because as of now, it's seriously lacking. Hollywood and Sunset Blvd. are probably my two favorite areas of the park (even if Coaster is a little "huh?" considering the theme of the area.) Echo Lake starts the "blend" from Old Hollywood to Backlot, and I honestly think it does it well.
But one thing this park is seriously lacking, that needs DESPERATELY, is a nighttime draw. Fantasmic! is only a few times a week, and on nights when there isn't a show, attendance for the entire day isn't usually all that great. The plan to have the AIE be the filler for non-Fant! nights is a bit on the "huh?" side, considering the AIE theatre only holds about 2000 people, if that. So, I think there should be some kind of nighttime entertainment on Hollywood/Sunset Blvd. A Villains Parade would be an awesome addition to the Studios. It could be a similar deal to the daytime BPB, where instead of a parade just rolling down the street, the floats and performers could stop and do something entertaining and interesting. And villains would tie in with Fant! and give the Studios something more "grown up" and spooky during the evening. But that's just my two cents.
DHS is my favorite park at WDW. I'd love to see it get some attention. Hopefully the Star Tours II update will prompt Disney to take a look at the rest of this awesome theme park, and do something unexpected and different.
Agreed in full, and I've good news....Muppet is getting new tech.

As do I...but something unique would be nice, too.Good points. I really wish we were getting the Monsters coaster.

You mean a Roller Coaster that doesn't exist anywhere else in the world isn't unique?
