Something more restrictive and inconvenient for guests? I love it!
I mean it's either the VQ closes quicker due to a bigger supply of eligible guests (no restrictions), or they make guests tap into the parks before joining the VQ, which is how it was pre-park closures.

Plus the VQs stayed opened for hours then. Park guests would prefer the second option more, imo.

Getting rid of VQ altogether is obviously the better option here, but 🤷‍♀️

VQs will be offered exclusively to those who apply for the new Disney Genie Platinum Visa with an introductory APR of 37.99%*.

*increases to 52.99% after 3 months
Ah, but you get a free photo of Bob Iger (on the face of the card) included at no extra cost!

It honestly is all so stupid.

1. Park Reservations at your choice park are hardly scarce.
2. They've "improved" the system to help modify park reservation immediately through the app.
3. If you can park hop immediately after tapping into your first park, what is the actual point of the reservation system to begin with?

If you wanted to go the MK or DHS, 98+% of the time you'll be able to.
If you wanted to go EPCOT 99+% you'll be able to.
If you wanted to go to DAK 100% of the time you'll be able to.

Why make guests go through the extra steps when there is absolutely no reason for them to, unless you happen to visit on the less than 2% of the days that such a system MAY be needed.

And even on the 2%, only IncrediPass is allowed on the busiest days, anyway. And anyone who buys that should have no restrictions. Most lunatics (like me…) who buy an IncrediPass are doing it to come during Christmas Week, and they’re staying on site at exorbitant room rates (whether cash or DVC points).

Anyone paying $1400 a night at Contemporary should be guaranteed park entry with a ticket. I don’t want to admit what I’m paying for Pop freakin Century…

Here is the update on the Walt Disney World website.

Beginning January 9, 2024, Guests with a ticket with Park Hopper benefits or an Annual Pass will be able to visit another theme park at any time of day during park hours (subject to capacity limitations).

On days when theme park reservations are required for Annual Passholders and on certain non-dated tickets, Passholders and their Guests will be able to take advantage of the updated Park Hopper policies after visiting their first park.
Lol, a continued **** you to passholders though, because you’ll still have to make a park reservation and tap into your first park to then go to the park of your choice. Don’t worry though, the price of your AP has only increased by $50.

I think the "good to go" feature is designed to essentially make it wide-open. They will use park reservations only where needed, it might be a few days a year or when something new arrives at the parks.

Oh, right. Coffee. Yes, that’s exactly what I’d start drinking after crashing and burning at DHS.

Coffee.

Am I the only one who develops a new ulcer with every DHS morning? It’s more stressful than the morons pushing people over as they sprint to a 48-year old coaster or a kiddie coaster that will inevitably be down at MK at 8:30.

last few trips we just stack G+ for DHS and arrive late (either started at AK and then hopped, or just slept in and got to the park around noon, but walked in with 2-3 LL ready to go). Makes the park much more enjoyable, and we like the park late

Great news, but why don't they just get rid of the reservation system for passholders. Still doesn't make any sense to me.
Because according to Disney, Passholders are the unfavorable mix they wish didn't show up so much. Disney makes the price so high that too many people won't bother to get one. The ones who do manage to make the sacrifice to get one have to do the reservation dance until they give up and start buying day tickets.

I keep getting these gifts for having booked my trip starting January 12th LOL. This is such great news and now I have to re-do my plans which are a loose model anyhow, but the lunch options... so much more to consider now!

Thank God for our lord and savour Bob Iger.....

In all seriousness, glad they've removed the stupid restriction. If you pay more for a park hopper ticket, you shouldn't be time restricted...

Are reservations really that much of a hassle? Genuinely curious. My family has never had a problem planning what park we're going to go to the day before.
