All booked

You know, of course, that this is among the busiest times of the year. That the crowds will be impossible. That wait times will be unbelievable. That you will have to be a rope drop to get anything done.

I know all of that because I've heard it and still booked a trip to begin Dec. 25th. Can't wait, and I don't care about the crowds, waits, and anything else. To be at Disney during that time will be magical.

Hope you have a great time and save some of the fun for us!

Not completely true. We were there December 8-14 and did not experience any sort of real crowd. We went to MVMCP on the 11th and it was empty. However we were leaving MK on 9th as park was closing and party was starting and it was crazy busy. We heard party was sold out that night and that it could have been because it was an AP Discount night. So my advice would be to avoid discount party nights.

Now my cousin went down on Christmas afternoon and said she'd NEVER go then again. It was insane and EVERYTHING had at least 1 hour wait (including Small World). The closer you get to Christmas the busier it will get. I suggest you take full advantage of the parks at the beginning of your trip, just in case you get stuck in the mass crowds towards the end of your trip.

I don't really agree with this. As you get closer to Christmas, yes it gets a little busier, and you will never find me a WDW during the week between Christmas and New Years. But with their trip starting on the 8th they should have relatively small crowds for at least part of the trip and be gone on the 22nd before the mad rush starts.

I wrote all of that tongue in cheek and just having a little fun with all the comments of the crowds and wait times. My original post was just an attempt to have a little fun with a fellow December tripper.

This will be our first December trip and the parties will have ended by the time we arrive. We've done MNSSHP several times, and I know that you will enjoy MVMCP if you get tickets.

Early to mid December isn't busy. Its just the end that is. Say, the 21st or so through the end.

Yes, you were exaggerating, this is true. But for the dates of their trip, what you said isn't true at all. Your trip however, will be very crowded.

OK, Let me explain once again.

I know that all I said in my original post was not the "truth" and my opening paragraph was just an attempt, however ill-advised, to have a little fun. I was simply stating what others have said or will say when you tell them you are planning a trip for the days around Christmas.

I know that the days of my trip, as opposed to the OP's, will be more crowded as schools are out and it is considered the busiest time of the year.

I know that was I posted was an exaggeration and thought my writing my second paragraph that I was in no way attempting to dampen the OP's enthusiasm for their trip. I'm excited for anybody at any time they get to go to Walt Disney World.

OK?

Have fun on your Disney trip. What resort will you be staying at? Since this is a 2 week vacation did you get the annual pass?

I have been to DisneyWorld in December before. Sometimes more early in December and other times later in December. Years ago (maybe 25 years ago) I was in DisneyWorld on Christmas day.

We stay off resort...DH would have Disney overload!! Plus there been 5 off us its cheaper than staying on resort. We usually rent a villa in the Davenport area. We haven't been at Christmas before & we are all very excited already!! :xmas:

Have fun at Christmas. There should be lots of Christmas stuff at the parks and the different resorts. I don't know if you have any meals books at some of the other resorts or not. As for the crowds for the most part it is slower in early December and when it gets closer to Christmas Eve and Winter break it picks up though there might be exceptions.

Also yes I was thinking that you were not staying at a Disney resort. I was asking what resort (meaning what resort either outside of DisneyWorld or in DisneyWorld) you were staying at. So are you renting a villa in the Davenport area this time like you usually do?

Yes we are staying in the Davenport area again, though we have nothing booked yet, still looking. We don't tend to pre book any meals, just decide when we get there & worry about it then, but as we don't stay at WDW resort we usually eat at the local restaurants, kissimmee, I drive etc. Many people have said that early December is fairly quiet in the parks, so I hope that it's the same this year!! :xmas:
