Aladdin's Oasis?

It was a restaurant, but it wasn't very popular. They shut down the food part and just used it for storytelling with Aladdin and Jasmine. It had 5 showings a day during peak times.
I have no idea what they are planning to do with it. I hate wasted space in parks!

Yea especially in DL where space is at a premium. They should open it with a new theme because if I had one complaint from my 1st trip to DL was a lack of Table serivice dining.

It was used last summer for the Indiana Jones and the Summer of Hidden Mysteries promo. There was a Jedi Training Academy-like show called Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Stone Tiger.

After the promo ended, the place was closed up and hasn't opened since.

I hope they reopen it soon. I too hate wasted space.

I believe this used to be a sitdown restaruant any news on what they plan to do with it and why did it close?

Several reasons the original dinner show closed. The cost of doing the show got to be too high to justify. Second there was not enough tables to pay for the show. Of course, since you paid admission to get in to the park in the first place You'd think that it would cover some of that cost. No. It was treated as a stand alone restaurant and got no credit for guests coming out to see it. I read the comment reports and it was well received even though the dinners were high priced.
The tahitian terrace that it replaced was not doing good business anymore and that show was expensive to run so Aladdin was a move to keep something running in that location.

The show had brass genie lamps on every table that when the audience rubbed them in unison and wished for dessert,s they puffed real smoke in response and servers marched out with chocolate genie lamp desserts for everyone filled with mousse! This was special.
