I'd help out on a saveWDW.com revolt as much as I can. :)

As long as its not only about a fantasyland budget cut, but what's wrong and what's neglected about all WDW parks.

Oh yeah, I have a sense it would be quite wide ranging. Budgets, maintenance, DVC's, food, DTD, taking guests for granted. Everything.

Certainly seems to be. :D I like what I've seen of it so far. There's promise here.

If only I didn't have school work!

I am up to reading Order of the Phoenix... Love the books so far....

And as for the site, domain is registered.. just need the time and assistance in getting a site up and running... Got a friend who does that so I may have to contact her.... (This is where I have been.. I have been planning thatsite for a while now and have taken time off to design it.. Just have limited knowledge to get it online and creating the site online actually... HELP ANYONE????)

I'm on Order of the Phoenix right now too. I want to have all the books read by the time I see The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. That being said, I don't think a "revolt" is going to have the backlash some of us are seeing. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is at most going to affect attendance at Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom - I can't see it affecting Epcot or Magic Kingdom.

The major additions come every couple of years, with the biggest gap in a while being Toy Story in 2008 and Ariel's Undersea Adventure in 2012 (or Star Tours in 2011 depending on perspective).

I would imagine 1 or 2 unannounced additions in the 2014 range, but I don't anticipate an announcement in the shareholder's meeting. I expect additional details on the existing expansions at the shareholders meeting, not new announcements.

TDO would be stupid to scale back after the D23 presentation- especially after it surprisingly ended up in MANY newspapers and TV- not to mention the Interwebz. But you never know, TDO doesn't have the best track record- I just don't think they're THAT stupid to release the expansion before all cuts are made.

Stuff has been scaled back at Disney theme parks since 1955.

Heck, look at the original plans and official WDI artwork for the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland! As fabulous as the Indy ride at Disneyland is, it doesn't compare to the original concepts and proposals to blend four attractions under one roof! http://jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_hill/archive/2006/02/06/749.aspx

Thus far however, no one with any knowledge of such things has come forward and said that Al Lutz is way off base with his one, tiny, brief, almost trivial, passing comment (that was only used to make a point about Disneyland) about WDW's Fantasyland project.

Martin, someone I think we all respect, has even come forward in this thread and backed up the point Al Lutz was making; that TDO has been cutting the budget and scaling back the Fantasyland project as it was first announced at D23 Expo.

I'm still betting he is wrong. How could Disney announce such a project, release amazing concept art, sell DVC's based on expansion and then cancel those plans? They can't. There are very strict laws that govern these things. See Jim and Tammy Faye Baker.

Oh, come on jt. Disney could cancel the entire thing tomorrow and not owe anyone anything but a smile. :)

Heck, this was only released at a Disney Geek convention 3,000 miles from Orlando. Disney has announced major new expansions and attractions on national network television before, and then cancelled them and never mentioned them again. For example; ________ Tracy's Crimestoppers Attraction, Baby Herman's Buggy Ride, Hollywoodland at Disneyland, Epcot Africa Pavilion, etc., etc., etc. Disney hasn't even mentioned this on TV yet, it's just been relegated to a single fan convention and some generic concept sketches emailed to the Orlando Sentinel. They have very little PR invested in this project thus far.

What I do have to wonder however, is why TDO hasn't fired up at least a modest in-park Fantasyland Preview Center like DCA's Blue Sky Cellar. Or at the very least, an online version of the Fantasyland project like Disney has done with DCA's expansion? http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dis...iew&CMP=FY09BSC_DisneysCaliforniaAdventureCom

That type of preview website, officially run by Disney Corporate and WDI, would do wonders to shed some light on what is coming to WDW and what has been cut.

Like I said, I don't think they'd scale back since this official announcement that got a lot of attention- creates a bad, BAD image. So, I believe we got the final product presented to us with all the major cuts made. I'm going to stand by that- because it's common sense. If I've learned anything from this board, it's that TDO wants to make it seem like they're doing a great job (obviously they aren't doing a great job to many) and they don't want the average person (no, not you; the average family going on a WDW vacation) to know of their bad habits.

The single greatest benefit (from our POV) of a Preview Center is the accountability, no doubt.

You obviously nevr saw or read the announcements about countries that ere to be in Epcot's World Showcase upon the park's opening right??? Do we even need to go to Beastly Kingdomme???

jt, even you know that just cause Disney announces it, and gives us some great concept art, doesn't mean cuts won't be made or, the project won't get cut altogether....

Good points!

Remeber people this is TDO, there is one thing that I am 100% sure about, this expansion will look nothing like the art.
