I asked for Deluxe Savannah Rooms for December, and I believe they said when winter starts the Deluxe rooms are no more. Either they are being turned into DVC or getting tossed altogether for standard Savannah or something like that. Anyway, I'm sure this is connected with that.

I've been talking to my sister about this and we're sad that we are planning our trip for next summer and not this summer just for the chance that we could be upgraded for free. YES AKL would be our first choice, but to be able to stay somplace else with out paying the price difference would be fantastic. I understand the disappointment, but think in the positive, how great of an opportunity this is.

I totally agree with you on this. its just that it sucks because ive never stayed there and was really excited ya know? . and the worst part was my 7 year old brother couldnt stop talking about how he wanted to wake up and see the animals. but like you said the we'll take the free upgrade anyday.

   Thank you Dave!!!! That is so sweet!!!! I think that using a TA to book a trip is just like any other kind of service profession. I know our agency has people who have a deep love for all things Disney. I try to get down there as often as I can so I Am on top of resorts, restaurants, changes etc. I know the other agents who I work with are the same way. If you use an agency/ agent who isnt as familiar with Disney or doesnt have the same level of service we do, you may get stuck in a bad situation or not be as informed as you might like. Certainly shop around to different agents and see who is giving you the best deal combined with the kind of services they offer. Belle
Now hold on there missy. You said you come down so often just so you can hang out with me. I am crushed!

i got my email from ms. belle yesterday. we are kinda bummed about having to be moved, but IF we are able to stay in the poly for about the same deal, i certainly wont complain. before this whole thing poly was out of our price range, and one of the top resorts we would have like to stay at. it IS out honeymoon after all! but, im just glad we are working with kingdom konsultants, they are simply wonderful and go above and beyond! a few posts ago someone mentioned something about not be surprised if they started moving people out of standard/pool view rooms. well, we were staying in a pool view, so...surprise! im just glad we got a bit of a heads up so we can adjust what we need to.

Where are you going to be staying?

Right now, nowhere. They made an offer that I didn't really like so the young lady said she has to speak with a supervisor and will get back to me on Monday or Tuesday.

Our AKL stay was just for the first 3 nights of our vacation. We still have the next 7 nights confirmed at the Boardwalk.

Hmmm, This is not sounding good. When my boss called me at home back in April to tell me I was getting a nice raise the first thing my wife and I said was "COOL!!!!! Now we can upgrade to AKL Savanah view!" for the first 5 nights of our trip the first week of Sept. Now I'm wondering if it was such a grand idea. Normally we love AKL and love coming back to the room in the afternoon to watch the Animals. BUT if there is going to be major construction going on (will the animals be around with all the noise?) we are starting to get a bit concerned! Have sent an email to our Travel agent at KK to see if this will affect us. If they have to move us to another resort then I'll not be too upset as long as it is not Saratoga Springs. We would prefere something near one of the parks and not Downtown Disney!. Hopefully if they have to move us, or if it would be in our best interrest to move, we can get into something like the Poly, WL, or one of the Epcot Deluxe resorts. Both my wife and I have so looked forward to having 5 nights at AKL to relax and destress from work but AKL does not look like the place to relax now. We have both been looking so much to this trip to get away from our stresses at work, now the trip itself is starting to stress us out! Well, we've hope to hear from our travel agent soon and find out what our fate is.

I saw some plans rolled up on a table the other day that said Animal Kingdom Lodge - Annex refurb (not sure what annex means, though). For any of you who may ask, No I will not elaborate any further on when or where I saw them.

You may want to call and ask them if it will be closed at the time of your ADR. No one has been told as of yet if the restaurants will be affected. I don't think they will be, but you may want to check anyway.

I haven't heard about any refurb at AKL. Call Disney themselves and reserve through them or atleast ask what's up.

Unfortunately, when booking through a travel agent, contacting Disney direct is very difficult. Most of the time, they will only give you very general information about your booking and will refer you to your travel agent for any changes or specific information.

Of course this was a couple of years ago and things very well may have changed.

Nope Hakuna, you are exactly correct!!!!! If you have booked through an agent they are your only contact with Disney. Definitely put in a call to your agent and they should be able to get you information pertinent to your exact situation. Belle
