AKL ..Refurb ?

Hey, we're heading out to AKL Savannah view and will be arriving Sept 3rd. I'm booked with one of the larger travel agents - Travel City Direct who I think will be slightly more difficult to get information out of. Do you think that my two week stay will be clashing with any problems or is Sept 1st a date they will have the major work finished by?

as to where people are being bumped to, it all depends on who you are working with, and what is available. i think disney is trying to move most people over to saratoga springs. its really hard to say where, and some people may get different deals from disney than the next person. hopefully we will be at the poly though *crosses fingers*

Hey there Gary, If you have booked through an Agent, they will be contacting the agent in the event that there is a need to move you. Above all, it is Disney and I believe that it will be fine. No need to worry, as Timon would say "Hakuna Matata" Enjoy your trip!! Belle

Weeeellllll..... Spoke with our TA this afternoon and he informed me that Disney was not moving folks past the 1rst of Sept when the majority of the disruptive work is to be done. He said that Disney promised that the disruptions would be completed by the 1rst and that our stay would be fine. I'm still a little concerned as that is 2 days before we are scheduled to check in. I'm hopefull that if that date slips we'll get fair warning and that since that's a pretty slow week, all the other deluxe resorts won't be snapped up.

Excellent for you! When did you find out?

I'm still "vacation homeless", waiting to hear from my DVC rep about what they can do for me. She said she'd call either today (too late now) or tomorrow.

That is interesting because I called on Sunday and asked about XMAS time. Obviously that was before the dates came out earlier in the week, but they weren't sure if they would be moving people in the fall and early winter. The rep. said it was a possibility some still could be moved. Please post when you return from AKL in the fall and let us know how bad the construction is at AKL. Thanks....
