Airfare Deal

WOW! I was putzing around on the internet last night and after checking all of my disney sites (just to make sure nothing else had changed in the last 24 hours) I went on Southwest's web site. Lo! and Behold!, I got airfare from Raleigh/Durham to Orlando for our trip in September for less that $420.00 r/t for me, my wife, and daughter. Even with the high gas prices, we are going to end up paying less this year than last for airfare! Thanks Southwest:sohappy:

My husband and I got a great deal too on our airfare leaving from Portland OR!! :sohappy:

We ended up paying about $195 (not including taxes) for non-stop, round trip airfare for AA (not our fav airline but it fit our budget) and we ended up paying about $457.00 total.

Gas here for the record is between $3.30-$3.40, ewww. :hurl: Still not as bad as Hawaii where all my family is, but it stinks that it's so high!

Yes! We were booking 36 seats on multiple flights for our group. I have been watching and have looked at multiple sites. Ended up going with Southwest airlines. $148.60 per person, roundtrip, non stop. So happy! Gas here is $3.49 a gln. so I was expecting $250 pp!

i would imagine more & more people booking airfare rather than driving right now. who knows what bullsh__ prices we will have to pay billionares so we can drive our cars by mid summer. if another katrina happens look out. i hate to even think that but you know what will happen

Well, $288 from LA doesn't sound so bad. We are flying from St.Louis and paying just about 1/2 that, but we are half the distance from WDW. But I hope you can find something cheaper...the less you spend on airfare the more you have for DISNEY!!!

LA is three hours from us so we were hoping they would be really cheap to make it worth the drive. I figured that was the going rate until I saw this thread! And MrsPortiaB's post! She's flying from Portland for crying out loud!:)
I'm not bitter though.

we will be driving down in sept (raleigh/durahm airport is only about 2 hours from us), but with a family of 4 it will still be cheaper for us to drive even with expensive gas prices.

did i mention that the biggest reason we will be flying is that my husband is a truck driver and if he doesn't have full control of the vehicle, plane, etc... he doesn't feel comfortable (and that he is a chicken butt too and has only flew once and was terrified.) i on the other hand have never flown nor my kids and so want to!!!

 Gas just jumped to $3.65 here yesterday. we had planned on driving down in Dec. but waiting to see how its gonna change. we can get r/t tickets right now from Allegiant air to Orlando nonstop for about $79 ea. way. Only thing is, they fly into Sanford and you have to make your way to DW. No magical express.:lookaroun

I was thinking of going to Disneyland next month, but my hotel stay+park tickets+food budget would be cheaper than ANY flights I can find! :brick:

I booked air from Philly on SW for July 28 for $118 r/t and that includes taxes!! The air out of Newark was $250, so even with the 1 1/2 hr drive using maybe a 1/2 tank of gas still much cheaper. I was able to get September out of Newark a month or so ago for $137 r/t w/taxes. I have found that if you buy your tickets on the airlines website you end up saving yourself a $5 transaction fee per ticket that you pay on sidestep, travelocity and others.

I am a southwest.com kind of girl! Last march my sister and cousin and I flew for $135 roundtrip from CHicago Midway to Orlando. And this October my husband and I are flying from Midway to LAX for $200. I have never had a bad experience with southwest, and their frequent flyer program is great!

I got PIT to MCO nonstop for 4 people for $555.20; so much cheaper than
driving. So, I added another night and park hopper to our package. The savings went right out the window:ROFLOL:
