Legacy attractions. Legacy attractions are attractions that many companies are loath to completely eliminate as they are tied to the past of the company itself. They may make subtle changes and some enhancements to the technology but they will never entirely remove it because it holds a strong connection to the past of the company. That is why magic kingdom will never bulldoze small world for a new attraction. That is why listen to the land will never be replace with a new attraction. That is why tough to be a bug will never be replaced despite the audience caring little about the original movie. That is why ET is still there despite ET having many issues. That is why the Congo river rapids is still at BG despite its ever worsening decline from decade to decade. That is why there is still a killer whale show at Sea World despite blackfish controversy. See where I am going with this.

Because it's a people eater in DHS. It often has short waits when nothing else does. You can ride it multiple times and have a different experience every time.

In DL, the ride has longer wait times and is still very much popular in spite of having Galaxy's Edge across the park.

No need to eliminate it or revamp it when it's still doing well.

Maybe Maybe not. Disney tends to use D23 as way to give cogsworth's favorite gift, a promise you don't intend to keep. Im sure we are all so excited to see Pixie Hollow, the play pavilion, skyliner extensions for MK and AK, or the Mary Poppins attraction. Sure the ideas from the imagineers may look good but once you get past the smoke and mirrors its not at all what you were thinking it was gonna be. Disney on the other hand can do small simple things like update a simple video with a new one featuring a new location and characters. Beyond that its all business as usual. As for zootopia, it does seem a little half baked at this point so Im not gonna hold my breath on this one especially as there are other areas disney is gonna wanna focus on before trying to change things inside the tree.

Star Tours was cool when it was YOUR own adventure in the Star Wars Galaxy. Now its just a big commercial for the recent films and characters. Now they gotta stuff the animated and tv show characters in to try and get those failing Disney+ numbers up to justify Iger's salary!
