Sunset Blvd. Is a Reflection of what people think of when they think of Sunset Blvd. The 1940's, war-era, only with happy cheery golden streets, clean and brimming with unique characters. (It was never like that.)

Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster both take place "today".

And G-Force Records was an Orange Packing Plant that was converted into a recording studio for the swinging big bands of Sunset Clubs, cutting records for the growing American music industry. G-Force was THE studio for these big orchestras and lovely singing ladies & Crooners because it was located right next to luxury: The Hollywood Tower Hotel.

In fact, that fateful night of October 31st, 1939, the party being held at the Tip Top club at the top of the Tower, was being held as a Halloween mixer for artists signing on to G-Force Records. And it's precisely because the events that unfolded that night became infamous-That the music scene dried up at G-Force. They had been stained by the tragedy of that night since they were involved, and fell into hard times.

Until the 1950's. A new sound started filling the air, and the other labels were letting it fall on deaf ears. The sound was Rock N Roll, and G-Force was desperate to be big again. So they gave young artists a chance, and the records finally started selling. And as the rest were turning the rockers away, they were coming in droves to cut a record with the young and hip G-Force Label. By the end of the decade Rock N Roll was sweeping the nation. Critics insisted Rock N Roll was just a fad-But G-Force Records knew better. In fact, they were SO confident that rock would last forever-in the early 1960's they built a 50 Foot Stratocastor- To state the record in their confidence that Rock would last forever.

In the 70's and 80's Rock N Roll continued to power G-Force Records to the top-And young Music Fans were all flocking to the now legendary "Studio C". And in 1999, in an unprecedented move, G-Force completely refurbished the iconic Studio C, turning the old Mixing Room into a viewing area to accommodate the throngs of Rock fans wanting to see Recording in Action, building a new and state of the art Mixing room on the other side of the studio. And outside, the Strat' is still standing, with no sign of going away.

honestly I saw the band on their past tour. They need to call it quits. Tyler can not go on a solo tour. How? He's so old he fell and was in the hospitol for a week. They also sounded terrible. I love them ,but its time to call it quits, but I hope RnR goes untouched.

Here come the endless parade of "It should be Rock N Roller Coaster starring INSERT FAVORITE BAND NAME HERE" posts.

They aren't even close to my favorite band, but they are marketable, well known, they appeal to multiple demographics, and you could start tailoring the far end of Sunset Boulevard to a "spooky/mild-scary" area of the park.

Does anyone think they could get away with keeping it if Steven Tyler quit the band? Do you think he'd mind?

Steven Tyler is Aerosmith.

Steve Perry is Journey.

etc.

Bands need to realize this and do everything it takes to keep the lead singer happy.

That being said, this is a non-story.

That's a nice story that ties together the seemingly contradictory theming of that area. Never thought of that before.

Then again, there really aren't any details around G Force records that actually tell that story, are there? I would say that's the biggest downfall of that story, you'd never figure that out unless someone in the know actually told you. They should add some little details that tie the back story into G-Force records, even if its a blatant "dedication plaque" or something outside the studio with the story told on it. Or the old standby of putting newspaper clippings around the queue.

So here's a question, if the Tower of Terror and G-Force records take place "today", then why does the rest of Sunset Boulevard take place in the 1940s? Is it supposed to be a time-shift as you walk towards the Hollywood Tower Hotel? I could see that, seeing as Hollywood Boulevard takes place in the 20s, you turn a corner and end up in the 40s, and soon you find yourself in modern times.

Sorry for the thread drift. :o

I really don't care either way but I think Disney going with a band like Aerosmth with some fairly vulgar (Although not by todays standards) songs. KISS would probably be even less family-friendly.

Interesting. But I wouldn't call KISS any less family friendly than Indiana Jones - who dated a 16 year old (as a 27 year old), "robs graves", drinks, shoots people, throws others out of moving vehicles, runs over people in trucks, etc (Raiders is my favorite movie). And how about Darth Vader? Or the movie "Alien"? They are still in the park right?

All KISS does is wear "scary" make-up and occasionally sing songs with sexually suggestive lyrics that no kid is going to understand anyways (if they can even make out the lyrics while they are screaming on a roller coaster).

And frankly, I'm a little tired of "family friendly"; every ride in the entire resort should not have to be appropriate for a four year old.

/Bah. Mini-rant over!
//Last Question: Who is more family friendly?: KISS? or the guy who shot Bambi's mother?

My husband and daughter (12) just went to Little Rock to see them. Apparently there was quite a few parents with their children there. My kid has loved Kiss since she could talk. She used to have tea parties with them. They are my hubby's favorite band and he would be over the moon if they were to dump Aerosmith (he likes them too) for Kiss.

Don't have much to say other than this - The grumpiness and meanness displayed on this board lately is sad and disheartening. Who cares if this has been discussed before? If it doesn't interest you, then don't reply. Not everyone spends every waking moment on this board and knows every thread that has been discussed.

The irony that this is a Disney board and so many of the members are nasty Scrooges isn't lost on me.

Our local news reported last night that Steven Tyler was walking away from Aerosmith. It also said that he was going to concentrate on brand Tyler. This makes me wonder if this is his way of saying he is having substance abuse problems again and is seeking help. Perhaps being in Aerosmith and having his Mom die last year was just too much for him to stay clean and he needs to concentrate on getting Steven Tyler healthy.

That's just what I think. I hope to :fork: that the RnRC stays just as it is. Not sure I could ride a Hanna Montana Express. As for KISS, they are pure hype and marketing, musically 99% of people can name ONE song they did "I wanna rock and roll all night and party every day..." That is it.

I don't see the harm in Disney replacing Aerosmith. Or just dropping them. They can just license other songs so you never know just what song/band you're going to get.
