Adventureland?

I hear a lot of talk on here about tomorrowland being dated, and even problems with fantasyland, but I don't recall seeing adventureland. And so maybe I'm in the minority, but i think adventureland is the shallowest and lacks "adventure". Granted, last time i was there jungle cruise was closed and there was a lot of facade work going on, but still. I think it could use an overhaul, anyone agree?

And sorry if there is a thread on this, I looked around for a while and didnt find one

Does it need help? absolutely... But nowhere near what TL needs. It has two major classics there and dole whips, so it gets an automatic thumbs up.

I always thought it would be absolutely wonderful to have Adventurer's Club-esqe characters walking around the land interacting with guests. ..I can dream...

I think Adventureland is great. It could of course use some plussing. I'd also rip out the Carpets and move them to a themed Agrabah subsection with an Aladdin walk-through (like Paris) or dark ride. I also wouldn't be opposed to the Agrabah sub-section having the Caravan Carousel from Tokyo DisneySea. Or the Aladdin musical.

Then they can open up that spot where the carpets are for walking and throw in a nice new fountain/waterfall with some seating around it.

I'd say Indiana Jones but I'd put that in Hollywood Studios.

Walk-around characters unique to the land (Adventurer's Club-esque) would be nice as well.

I think they get rid of Alladins wheel of misfortune, get captains on JRC who actually pronounce words in an intelligible way and actually have fun with their job and voila...Classic Disney restored.

Seriously though, I very much enjoy the classic Disney air about adventure land and truly would prefer Alladin gone, but of course that is just my two pennies!

If they:

- Properly upgraded the AAs and speakers in Pirates
- Brought back the fountain in the Tiki Room
- Reopened the Veranda as a restaurant
- Better integrated or removed the Aladdin content

The land would be pretty much perfect. It doesn't really need a major overhaul like Tomorrowland.

The Alladin Agrabah area almost ruins the entire land.

Other than that, Adventureland is actually looking pretty good right now. They're currently refurbing the Tiki Room exterior, or just finished.

The new interactive Pirates scavenger hunt game has really spiced up the land, especially at night. There's a lot of neat, small-scale effects all over the place now that you won't notice until someone triggers them. It's certainly several notches above Kim Possible/Phineas and Ferb Cell Phone Adventure.

I always want to overhaul everything because i hate mismatched stuff. When something new comes along; instead of making a new spot for them, they are thrown somewhere and stuff is added through time. 20 years later you are left with a mess and hodge podge of stuff. It bugs me that there is an Aloha Isle snack station then 'Agrabah' then Tiki Birds. That whole section, to me, needs a reorg.

Aladdin is one of Disney's best movies and it is boy centric, one of the rare few where princesses aren't the main focus. I love me some princesses but it's Aladdin! Give him his due and give him a custom 'New Fantasy Land' style section. Surely new space can be built somewhere...even if it means getting rid of the Swiss Family Robinson place. But give him somewhere of his own, with a dark ride (keep the carpets too if you must) perhaps a show/tutorial and quick service...I would love to see the Sultan's Palace made a reality or something like that.

Then all the space where he is now can maybe be used to go back to the safari/tiki/jungle cruise explorer theme. Add an Explorer's club dining experience maybe. Some street-mosphere would be cool.

I would also love to see a themed character meal here. So many 'adventure' characters that could be used from Tarsan, aladdin, Peter Pan, Pirates, etc.

I agree with most people; only minor upgrades needed for Adventure Land. Not like Tomorrow Land which I think needs the most work right now. With some tech upgrades and a few more activities/shows, This land would be awesome.

I believe they raised height testing balloons years ago. There was speculation that it was going to be for Fire Mountain or some other big E-Ticket. Bottom line, they at least considered an update to the land even if it was only in the very preliminary stages.

I think the land is fine right now. It helps that it has two (3 arguably) classic attractions. Plus, I think there have been rumors for years that JC would get a revamp possibly including the piranha pool from Disneyland. Of course, I would love a well done E-Ticket but I don't see one forthcoming in the foreseeable future.

There's a pretty good sized area between the Tree House and the Crystal Palace that could be used to expand Adventureland, but the rest of AL is so land locked they could add anything without removing or rearranging what is currently there

I agree with the others about the Aladdin sub section being out of place and would be better off relocated to either another land or park in general! Also the last time I rode the Jungle Cruise I felt it was a bit dated, was in need of a refurb and could use a new story line perhaps a Jungle Book overlay would be a nice addition. Otherwise Adventurland is still a great land with a few classics the public enjoys though I think the Mouse should consider having a non seasonal restaurant open in the area to take some of the burden off Pecos Bills, Liberty Square and Main Street.

Ahhh.... Remember the lush foliage and the pond next to the tiki room? I remember when I was little, I always pretended that I was an explorer in the South Seas... Unfortunately, all of that has changed, but the Aladdin spinner does offer some fantastic views over Adventureland, so that's a perk.

I'd like to see the Jungle Cruise rethemed as a Princess and the Frog Bayou swamp boat ride.
It shouldn't take much to do that and would work a newer movie into the adventure theme.

I think that Adventureland was basically perfect the way it was originally. They should just revert it back to the way it was in the early 70s.

A kindred spirit and true renaissance man... I salute you sir!

yes, yes...and, yes

EDIT: Please for the love of Walter Elias Disney...no overlays!!! It is a cheap way for Disney to say "oh look...a shiny object" without truly applying themselves. Lets not settle for table scraps when we are paying for prime rib!
