Adults without children

My husband and I took our honeymoon to WDW last year, complete with character meals, photos with characters, and all that good stuff. Both of us are in our mid 20s. We won't wait too horribly long for meet and greets with characters, but when there's no line, we'll get our photo taken. We even dress up for MNSSHP - last year we had kimono's from the Japan pavilion, this year I'm making costumes. We did the trick-or-treating, and it was great :)

We've done the carousel, as well as a few of the more "kiddie" rides, and had an absolute ball. We did CRT a few years ago, and it was wonderful, well worth it, even for two adults.

Aging is unavoidable, growing up is optional. Enjoy your Disney vacation, however you care to :)

Our WDW trip consists of my other half (41) and me (34), I must admit I don't ride certain rides because I am self conscience about not having a child with me, I am planning on doing Chef Mickeys breakfast next year and am feeling worried about it just being us adults! In the Unofficial guide 2012 it says adults are hardly ever seen without children at this event!

Next year I may attempt Dumbo, Aladdin, carosel etc for the first time!
I'm 34 and Love is 41 and I'll ride the carousel and such when I feel like it. I don't do it every time but I have fun when I do. Just go for it if you want! It's Disney. You're almost required to have fun at Disney. :D

Don't worry. I have ADR's for Chef Mickey's and Akershus (we wanna meet princesses) for all adults. Get on the "kids" rides too! I rode Dumbo during Wishes once and it was amazing.

We have lots of photos with characters in our collection. We wait in line, we go to character dining, ride some of the "kiddee" rides but not all. Mainly avoid any ride that is going to spin me in a circle (inner ear thing). I have met with princesses, fairies, aliens, space rangers, ducks, chipmunks, and mice. I have danced with Rabbit at AK, and boggied with King Louie. No, we're not weird just letting our inner child shine!

My wife and I have always waited for photos with characters. I don't think it's weird or anything, just part of the whole experience when you are at WDW.

Nope.
Last photo I had with a character was sometime back in the '90s.
No interest in it at all. I'm a ride guy.

Im 29 with no children and my husband and I go to Disney about 5 times a year. We however never do character meetings or dine with them. We just do all the rides and drink around the world. But now that I am pregnant with our first child Im sure that will change very soon!!

My husband & I have always done character dining experiences, we've done almost all of them & never felt weird about it. We wait in lines for characters we haven't met yet - at this point, they need to be relatively rare. Of course, our first little one will be here next month so we'll experience it a whole new way now.

Oh yes, my boyfriend and I get pictures with characters, wave at the parade dancers, go on Hidden Mickey hunts, trade pins and it is a MUST to go to at least one character meal each trip. All without kids.

So nope, totally not alone. :) Like a lot have said already, it's what Disney is all about! It's the one place you can really feel like a kid without getting the weird stares because everyone there is feeling it too. :)

My lady and I (both late in our late twenties) get pictures with masked characters whenever there isn't a line, or more than two people in the line. It's not a must do, but it makes us smile and it's a fun (if slightly awkward) memory. We don't do autographs.

We've never done pictures with the 'bare-faced' characters (princesses and such). I'm sure we will one day, but so far it's always seemed a little too awkward. Actors (while performing) and improv kind of weird me out. What would I say - hey, nice dress?

We do character meals. Well, mostly we do them if we really want to try the food or experience the restaurant vibe. One of our favorite meals is Tusker House for lunch and it looks like we'll be visiting with Donald the next time we do this meal. Not really a bonus for us, but not a hinderance either. I'll enjoy it and I won't be embarassed about it.

I hope no adults are embarassed about visiting characters. You might as well take advantage, you're paying their salary and it always results in a smile. Plus, you're probably wearing a funny button, a tacky shirt, or a ridiculous hat anyway - it's all part of the fun.

No Problem!! Have done Chef Mickeys without children - my youngest is 41 now and he can't wait 'till we go again. Who needs children - Walt set the park up for 'children of all ages'.
Enjoy it - who cares what others think -- are they paying your bills???

I will try and let my inner child out! It seems a waste always avoiding the same rides! Thanks guys!

Absolutely!!! My friends think Disney is for kids. Where else can someone in their 30s be a kid again. Why else would you go if you didn't do things?

WDW is for everybody, regardless of age.
These quotes sum it up perfectly. You're not doing anything illegal, so it's nobody else's business how you choose to enjoy your vacation. Don't let the misguided judgment of total strangers deter you. Just have fun! I'm a college-age, male athlete whose WDW trips are biennial at best, and I always make some time to see my favorite characters.

Sometimes it seems like the characters prefer interacting with enthusiastic adults than with little kids. They like being able to perform with a guest who acts out a little in WDW and has a personality that they can play off of. It breaks up the monotony of signing those &@!# autograph books that kids shove at them all day (pet peeve of mine).

I'm 27, my DW is 26 and my sister is 23, we stand in line for every character and last year stood in line almost 30 minutes to ride Dumbo....In WDW there are no age groups....

My partner and our are both 26 and we waited in line to see sorcerer Mickey on our last trip. We also ate at a character breakfast and saw others without kids as well.

I did wait in a line a few years back to see some character a few years back and they closed the line a couple people behind us. Well these people walked by and were upset that the line was closed and that there were "adults" taking up space in the line.

I'm in my 20's and I would so do it if I wanted. I had a blast at the Halloween Party last year getting to meet all the villains. I'm not a fan of waiting for..um.. anything, so I won't wait more than 5 minutes for a character.

I'm also not a fan of character meals and when I just so happen to be at one, I time my buffet time where I run once they're at the table next to mine. lol

Well that's certainly no fun.

The more characters the better !!

I am 21 and I always have to get my picture taken with characters. Especially the ones you don't see very often. Character meals are also fantastic. A meal would not be complete without a visit from Mickey Mouse :)
