Adults without children

Do you wait in line to meet characters and get your picture taken, maybe get an autograph? Do you go to character dinners and wait impatiently at your table for them to get to you? I travel with all adults, late twenties and early thirties, and we most definitely do these things. Anyone else? Anyone think we're weird and creepy?

Absolutely!!! My friends think Disney is for kids. Where else can someone in their 30s be a kid again. Why else would you go if you didn't do things?

My wife and I have no kids and get annual passes. Think we queued once on our honeymoon for a picture with Mickey & Minnie. Nowadays we wouldn't queue for a photo but would grab one if a character had no line. Don't think there's anything wrong with it though. If you enjoy doing it then why not do it. It would be crazy to not do something you enjoy just because others may think it odd. Just do it and enjoy it and the hell with others. To be honest they probably think you and I are odd anyway for going without kids so we've nothing to lose anyway :animwink:

Love and I do character meets and photos. The highlight of the Pixar celebration at Epcot a few months back was getting out picture taken with Carl from Up. We stood in line for like 45 minutes for that. (He was awesome.)

We've done lunch at Crystal Palace and definitely took our pics with all of Pooh and friends who came by. We watched and waited and timed our trips to the buffet around where the characters were in proximity to us to ensure we didn't miss them.

At 34, I have no qualms about meeting characters. In fact, I quite enjoy it and don't ever see a reason to stop! :D

My husband and I went for our anniversary last year. We still have our picture with Cinderella from CRT in our living room. We didn't wait in line for any characters, but would've if they weren't long.

Yep. That's my Mom and I on each of our trips!

It does depend on the characters though. She refuses to wait for Chip and/or Dale.

Prior to us having our little boy my wife and I went in 2009 (29 years old and her first time at 25) and then again in 2010. We saw all the classic characters and waited in line a few minutes for each of them.

We waited 30 minutes to get a picture with Mickey and Minnie. Then we had a shot with Pluto and Goofy. Then Donald. Then Daisy. Then..........Stitch. Then Fiesta Donald at Epcot. Then at Animal Kingdom we stood with Jiminy Cricket (that has to be a kid in there) and Rafiki. At the end of the picture Rafiki dismissed me and took my wife's hand and ran off with her, lol.

For the record we also met Spiderman at Universal.

Look, I'm a grown man so I don't care what anyone thinks. This was my wife's first time at WDW and she wanted some character pictures. I wanted some too. These are memories that we will forever cherish. I've been laughed at by some non-believers of Disney but I always maintain how happy we were in the pictures and how it made our day. Usually they shut up then. But take a look around WDW, a lot of people come without kids, its a myth that never seems to die that you NEED kids there.

My DH & I get our pictures taken with pretty much every character we see, no matter how long the wait. We also always have a few character meals each trip and I sit anxiously waiting for them to make their way over to our table. We don't get autographs but always a ton of pictures!

My wife an I wait for characters, no autographs though just pictures. Gotta get the main characters especially once everytrip for us. And of course any rare ones if we see them. A few I have no desire to see but will get any character that has no line.

I'll be 50 on my next WDW trip in Feb. and I assure you that I will have at least 1 character meal and photo ops with several other characters along the way. Who needs kids for an excuse?

Uhm...I'm going solo in 3 days time for a weeks stay..I can quite assure you I'll be grinning ear to ear, doing a couple character meals AND getting my photopass pics with every character possible that I can find! This from a 50 something LOL

I'm in my 20s and would take a picture with a character that doesn't have a line or anything. I would do a Meet and Greet for Mickey and wait in line. The others idk if I would have the patience to wait in line for. My cousin is bringing his kids next year so I can use them as an excuse for going to character meals :lookaroun

My wife and I have been going to WDW since the 1970's on a regular basis.
We are now in our '70's and would not miss the opportunity for pics with the characters and always take in a character meal. WDW is for everybody, regardless of age.

Our WDW trip consists of my other half (41) and me (34), I must admit I don't ride certain rides because I am self conscience about not having a child with me, I am planning on doing Chef Mickeys breakfast next year and am feeling worried about it just being us adults! In the Unofficial guide 2012 it says adults are hardly ever seen without children at this event!

Next year I may attempt Dumbo, Aladdin, carosel etc for the first time!

We do it all and I don't have a family member under 20. I ride Dumbo, Teacups and all the kiddie rides, along with all the thrill ones :) It's your ticket and you should enjoy everything it has to offer. I am a firm believer, while in a theme park, you should never hold back based on what others might think. We can't see the future and you may never have the chance to do it again. Enjoy it all!

Yes! I love meeting the characters(pictures and autographs) and I also do character dining. If people think that's weird that is their problem. I could care less what they think.

What does annoy me is when some guests let their kids run up to the characters without waiting in line and then act like it's not a problem. To me, that is rude.

My husband and 25 year old son and I like to have an annual picture with Mickey and Minnie (if possible). After a first ride on Test Track we like to head over to Character Spot and they zip you thru with a number of available characters.

No Problem!! Have done Chef Mickeys without children - my youngest is 41 now and he can't wait 'till we go again. Who needs children - Walt set the park up for 'children of all ages'.
Enjoy it - who cares what others think -- are they paying your bills???
