Adults and Meet And Greet

I always used to be scared of characters when I was younger, now I wish I hadn't been.
Next trip will hopefully be character filled fun, except with face characters, I always feel slightly awkward, as I wonder what they are thinking behind the acting...

We always wait in line for characters, including face characters. Honestly, I think dealing with kids all day sometimes they might enjoy some adults to talk to, even if it's just for a second.

As a huge character fan myself I will say there is no problem at all. Many adults enjoy meeting the characters. I'm sure there are some who think "characters are for children". Those people need to get a life. They are for everyone no matter how old you are.:)

I love character meet & greets! I have a daughter now, but I also have many years of pictures of me & DH with characters. We have done a lot of the character meals, and had a blast. It's okay for anyone of any age to get character pictures. It's what Disney is all about. :)

The characters are one of my favorite reasons to go to Disney. I started running 2 years ago so i could participate in the Disney races. I love seeing rare characters and I take my camera along with me when I run so I can get my picture with them.

I have had great experiences as an adult meeting characters. Snow White & I had a great chat in April and Captain Hook got down on one knee and proposed. I have 18 photos with Mr. Smee on different visits starting in 1975 when I was 3 years old right up to 2010. It looks like a flipbook of me growing up beside him. :)

No problem at all, I get pictures with the characters when I am with my youngest sister, I probabaly wouldn't bother without her but that is just because I don't overly want to queue for ages not that there is any problem with having your picture taken.. if you want to go and enjoy yourself!

Thanks for all the great responses, Now I wont feel weird standing in the lines by my self and I will most certainly interact with the Characters. I might even place some free Dole Whips close to the line to get some of the adults to leave the line.

Defiantely ok... As you can see in my profile pic Minnie made him re-propose lol. We usually sneak into the character connection (i think thats what its called) in Epcot. We never really have a issue with lots of yelling kids..... of course now that I just said that im tempting fate lol

Meet & Greats are great photo ops for everyone. When my wife & I went alone we didn't do as many as we did with the kids, but we did our share for the memories.

Yes, go and meet the characters. I love to get a few pictures taken every trip with some of my favorites. My last trip in March I was waiting in Camp Mickey Minnie near the restrooms when Brer Rabbit happened to walk out for meet and greets. There was no line so I went up and visited with him. His handler was kind enough to take a picture for me using my phone. It is all part of the fun of being at WDW.

My other half has to do pictures with the characters every time we go. I always feel awkward taking pictures with the characters that are not in the mascot costumes, like Mary Poppins, Cinderella, etc because I feel like an idiot LOL. Only because they talk to everyone like they are kids and I am not a good actor or improv person. Every time I walk away I want to slap myself in the forehead and say "You sounded Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!" But the way I look at it is you are spending hundreds to thousands of dollars to go there, take pictures with whomever you want! Even the ride operators! LOL

All the time! If the lines are short and/or I love the character, I always wait. Picture this: three single adults between the ages of 26-31 (male and females) waiting for characters. :) It's also fun to watch the kids ahead of us meet and greet.

Last year I was so excited to see Rafiki (I loved the Lion King as a kid) 'he' started dancing with me since 'he' knew how happy I was to stumble across him in Epcot.

Also, someone mentioned autographs earlier. Here is what I did for some autographs that someone may be interested in.

I had Mary Poppins and Alice & the Mad Hatter sign two books that I purchased in Epcot. I knew we would be dining at the Supercalifragilistic buffet later in our trip, and I brought the books with me. I am SO happy that I asked them to sign them--they did such a nice job personalizing the message. By the way, The Mad Hatter's signature is THE BEST!! He told me that he rarely signs the "Happy Un-Birthday" message because it is difficult, but since I went out of my way to bring the "All Things Alice" book, that it needed a special dedication. So, if you're into Mary and Alice and the Mad Hatter, you may want to think of this option (or heck, any other character). It's nice to see every time I open the books, plus the neat messages will always be there. Oh, and the Mary Poppins book I had her sign is "Mary Poppins from A to Z". I'm sure that you can purchase any of these books prior to arrival to WDW. I thought of the idea while in Epcot touring the countries...so, whatever works for you! :) I would do have to say that the Supercalifragilistic buffet seems to be a bit slower, so the characters had more time to sit and chit-chat. In fact, the Mad Hatter sat with us for a LONG time. It's a great buffet without feeling as though the characters are flying by your table.

Of course! Ever since I began visiting Disney World when I was four or five, meeting all of the characters has been an integral part of every trip my family and I have had. I simply cannot go without having a meal at The Crystal Palace and saying hello to Pooh and his friends. I flip out with excitement whenever I see Rabbit make an appearance, as he isn't usually there.

Uh... Anyway, count me as another adult who loves meeting characters. I especially like meeting face characters, as they will often take a ball and run with it. My beard has prompted some VERY interesting conversations. And then there was the time that my sister called me a nerd and Alice scolded her. "That's a TERRIBLY rude thing to say!"
