Adults and Meet And Greet

There is nothing wrong with adults meeting characters, what is a problem is when the whole family has to take 30 pictures with every possible person character combo they can come up with. I see nothing wrong with adults and teens in meet n greets as long as they just get a couple of photos and move on.

@StupidAdults - Welcome to WDWMagic! I see you just joined today. Sounds like you have a super fun day planned!

Question - is it more traumatizing for a child to wait a bit longer in line so that I, an adult with no children, can get a picture with Mickey...or is it worse for that child to be mortified as their mother spends the entire day antagonizing strangers (which, let's face it...you're not REALLY going to spend your day doing that)?

Hmm...

I like getting photos with the characters to give the impression I'm a good sport, and watch how well the CM's can get into the role of the characters. Mostly watching the human face-characters play the part, although some of my favorite park moments with suit-costume characters were with Stitch in character, and I was only a casual fan of the movie.
You can usually tell when a CM is staying in character or just being sociable to guests in general (in case I might not have wanted to "play"), so I go with whichever situation arises. I like to give the impression that I'm just another traveler having fun, and never once let them suspect I'm really thinking "OMG, the real Jasmine is holding my arm! :jawdrop: " :D

I don't think the kids are "embarrassed" if they see the adults believe it too. (And it's amazing how much you do, as compared to, say, the Santa at the shopping mall.)
Although I remember standing in one line at Epcot behind a mom without kids who was absolutely giddy about the prospect of meeting Snow White as if it was a real celebrity appearance, and I sort of thought, "Good. At least I'm still a few notches under that."

as long it doesnt devolve into something akin of the movie CHILDREN OF THE CORN.

also, why suddenly the revival of a 2012 thread?

Based on some of the other comments in the thread that seem to point to something that isn't visible to me, it looks like maybe there was a troll whose post was deleted.

Man... no wonder the lines are so long! ;)

Long ago(early 90's), before kids... wife and I got pics with the Fab Five. M&Gs were not as crazy then though.

Yeah, I'm not waiting in line for Anna and Elsa or using a FP for it, but if there's a character that I want a picture with, and the wait is reasonable, I won't hesitate to jump in line.
