ADR's during free dining

We have had our vacation booked for Aug. 22-29. I am a little concerned with free dining now being offered that it will make getting our ADR's almost impossible. Has anyone gone during free dining and were you able to get the ADR's that you wanted? I was also curious if this causes the crowds to become unmanageable?

It can be a challenge. Call as soon as you are able.

Park crowds are still manageable.
Table Service Restaurants can be crowded.

Last year I didnt have any issues getting what I wanted and I booked AFTER my 180 day mark...

Better to struggle and get ADRs now than arrive at WDW and have nowhere decent to eat

We had no problems last year, but with the issues with the ADR system and the 90 day reservations, who knows what it will be like this year? I say call at the 90 day mark, you can ask someone at Disney when this is. My trip counter said 90 days, but it wasn't according to Disney. Be flexible and you should be fine.

I never see the problem with making ADRs, far better to ensure you get to eat at the places you really fancy especially if you eat at the busier times

Geese, I sure hope I do not run into any issues get the ressies that I was hoping to get. I booked my package for the end of Sept. using the free dining code I got back in Feb. Now that free dining is offered ti all, I am really nervous that I am not going to get into the places I was looking forward to going.

You'll be fine. Call the first day available. I've never had a problem and I've done free dining many times.
