Adding a day to an existing ticket?

I have a potentially-silly question about our upcoming trip. My husband and I will be arriving around 6pm on Sunday the 22nd for a seven-day trip - our initial thought was that we just wouldn't hit a park that night since we'd hardly have much time, so I just got 6-day tickets.

As I have been lax in planning out our daily schedule for the trip, I just now discovered that MK has EMH until 11pm that night, so it may be worthwhile indeed to head there as soon as we arrive. Of course that would leave us with only five days left on our tickets. I seem to have it in my head that you can easily add a day to your ticket when you check in at your resort - is this wishful thinking or is it true? I've hunted around a bit but can't find a clear answer.

Thanks much in advance.

If I understand correctly, you can add days onto your ticket until you reach 10 days, so you should be fine. If you have a 10 day ticket, you can no longer add any theme park days onto it, no matter how many days you have already used. If you have a less than 10 day ticket, you can add days on until you reach 10 days.

As long as you haven't reached the 10 day limit, Disney will be more than happy to take your money and add a day to your ticket.

Now, if you have reached the 10 day limit, Disney will be more than happy to sell you a one day ticket which you can add 9 more days admission too.

Did you buy a MYW package or standalone tickets? If a package, you can call back in and add a day right now with ease.

If you bought actual tickets, you have probably received them in the mail already. You will need to go to a Guest Service location outside a Theme Park, or to the TTC, and have them physically add a day once you arrive.

I don't think they do ticket stuff at the resort hotel check-in desks anymore, unless you're adding them to a package.

It's true that you only have 14 days from the time you first use the ticket to modify it in any way, but I don't think that will be a problem.

You can absolutely add a day to your tickets at the concierge desk at your resort. It's a separate line from check-in.

I actually bought a 10 day ticket (I wanted an 11 day ticket - no such thing). I wanted the Magic Your Way Plus Dining Package so I could get the "buy 4 days, get 3 free" deal and I also wanted the dining plan so I opted for the MYW+dining package rather then an annual pass. We're doing the Polynesian for 7 nights then going to Boardwalk Villas for 5 nights. I was told by the operator that after I had used up my 1st day, I could add another day to make my remaining 9 day pass a 10 day pass. The operator told me the extra day would be pro-rated so the cost would be minimal. I was told that I could add the extra day at the resort or at a ticket counter at one of the theme parks. Do you think I was misinformed?

and for the OP Yes you can definitely add a day to your ticket with no problem, either prior to your departure, depending on when that is, if it is too close to your date, you will be directed to do this at the resort or Guest Relations at any park location. Belle

Thanks everyone! Yes, they're MYW PH as part of the buy 4 get 3 package (well, buy 4 get 2 in our case, as the offer came after we'd already planned our trip and we couldn't extend it any longer). I will try calling and adding the day in advance, but it's good to know we can add it later as well.

Actually, it may be free to upgrade it beforehand. Part of the B4G3 promotion is that days 5, 6 and 7 on your ticket were free (for a total savings of $9 per person...)
So, adding that 7th day onto your ticket *should* be free if you do it before your trip. Otherwise, you'll pay that $3 per person once you're there.

I just ran into the same problem. Was looking at my reservation and realized I only had a 7-day ticket for out 8-day trip. I called and added another day, and it was a total of $9 for the 3 of us (really 4 in our party, but my 1 year old is free).

Oh yeah, I have the buy 4 get 3 deal. If you want to add a day, now is the easiest and best time to do so.
