Actual Insiders vs Wannabe Insiders

I've noticed that among the real insiders, they fall generally into two types:

1. Those that 'leak' info ahead of time.
2. Those that will speak up and confirm if a rumor or other insider's leak is true or not. This category includes those who are real journalists, or have enough cred with Disney that they can pick up a phone and get confirmation from Disney themselves.

Of course, some do both.

But for real insiders, it's a bit dangerous for them to be the leak if it gets traced back to them. That's why there tends to be more 'confirmers' than 'leakers.'

Amongst both groups, you have not only Disney employees, but those who work for contractors who work with Disney. Or their spouses.

Then there are the bull horns (usually bloggers/vloggers). These are people who aren't insiders themselves, but receive tips from insiders, sometimes unsolicited, and report the gems that fall into their laps. They sometimes report big scoops and appear to be well connected. Then they sometimes get those big scoops awfully wrong, because they have no way to verify the rumor themselves.

It seems some real insiders get their kicks feeding the bull horns everything they hear. And Disney says a lot of things, with a lot of those things being ideas not fully realized or greenlit. Don't trust the bull horns. *ESPECIALLY* if they're monetizing the leaks from insiders. Because if they're in a dry spell of leaks, they have a tendency to still publish something... which is usually their unfounded assumptions.

One day we’ll have coffee and I’ll tell you the story.
You can't trust Martin. Years ago he made that same offer to me and yet, he was wrong on both counts. We have never had coffee (which is good because I don't like coffee) and secondly, I'm still waiting for the story!
Martin is an obvious insider, that still won't tell you to what extent his information is reliable, but, rest assured that it's about the best you can get even if it is sometimes intentionally vague.
